In Varde Municipality, Children and Family – Authority and Family Center are gathered under the same management. This provides a strong shared professional direction and good conditions for close collaboration around children, youths and their families.

Children and Family - Authority consists of reception function, preventive team, specialist advice, placement and return-to-home function, youth unit, infant and toddler team and child districts.

About the position

In the Placement Function we work with children and youths who are placed. We are involved in the process up to the placement, through the placement process and until a return home or transition to adult life.

Your tasks will include

• follow-up on the placement
• involve the child or the young person and ensure their perspective in the case handling
• multidisciplinary collaboration with network foster families, foster families, Children and Youth Homes, schools, day care, therapists and other partners
• make decisions and prepare professional justifications in accordance with applicable law
• prepare child welfare investigations and recommendations to the Children and Youth Committee

The child’s voice and involvement are central in our work, and we have many conversations with children and young people.

In the vast majority of cases there is a very good cooperation with everyone around the child, just as most out-of-home placements are with consent. We believe that the involvement of the child and collaboration with those around the child is of great importance for the child's future wellbeing and development.

We place high value on involving the network and always explore the possibility of placement within the child’s network.
