Children's culture mediator with a big heart for children and children's literature

In Brøndby Culture Houses and Libraries we take children and their reading seriously, and we do our best every day to convey literature and the library's offerings in a lively, educational and inclusive way.

We are looking for you who are passionate about communicating to the 0-6 year olds and their adults. You have knowledge of the interventions that the country’s libraries have developed in the preschool sector, and you can translate knowledge and experience into relevant and exciting offerings for children in Brøndby Municipality.

What will you do?

You will become part of Team Children and Families, which works with dissemination and offerings to children and young people aged 0-16 years. There will be 8 colleagues in the team, where each contributes with their focus area and their professional expertise to reach our common goal.

You will be responsible for developing, planning and implementing activities and collaboration with day-care centers. It is a collaboration that must be cultivated and developed. In addition, you will, together with two colleagues, work focused on our youngest target group, so even more children get exciting and relevant encounters with literature.

One of your tasks will be to work with the development project Reading Culture in Change, where we have contributed to #Spor 2: Family and Leisure with a focus on movement.

In addition, your primary tasks will be to

• Create activities and dissemination for 0-6 year olds that support the work with reading enthusiasm and reading culture
• Develop projects with a view to relevant development grants, including contribute to the application process and planning
• Be host in our library lending and at activities
• Develop offerings with a focus on learning and communities for children and their families in their leisure time and during holiday periods together with our children’s events team

Our wish is that the position strengthens our collaboration with the day-care sector and other relevant partners with a particular focus on developing strong and sustainable offerings with high volume.

A little about you

We would preferably not put a formal label on who you are - the most important thing is that you are passionate about children, reading and culture and have experience from the field.

We will be very happy if you can bridge professional boundaries and see opportunities in collaboration. You may very well be passionate in your communication with children and have lots of good ideas for how we can put our collection into play and get even more children to read and be part of meaningful communities.

It would be an advantage if you have experience with binding collaboration across organizations, e.g., collaboration with municipal administration, external culture actors or similar. It is also advantageous to have experience with or knowledge of project and process management.

You should have a relevant educational background such as librarian, cand.scient.bibl., cand.mag or similar.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with applicable collective agreements and qualifications.

The job is full-time with flexible working hours.

There will be evening and weekend work in connection with the arrangement and activities.

There is an outreach duty every 3rd-4th Saturday and Sunday open in the winter months.
