Church caretaker for Nørre Snede - Hampen parishes

Our church caretaker has chosen to retire, and we are therefore seeking a new church caretaker for a permanent part-time position of 25 hours per week starting 1 January 2027.

We are a couple of active parishes with many different activities during the week beyond services and church ceremonies, including children's club, sewing and knitting and a cozy café, baby song, youth choir and adult choir. You will become a very important part in making all the practical aspects work.

You will have a great influence on your own daily life, and the most important for us is that you have an eye for detail and tasks, so that the practical things function and you also maintain a calm overview. As we have a lot of activities – and therefore many people in the premises during the week, cleaning will constitute a significant part of your working time.

In addition to Nørre Snede Church and Hampen Church we also have a parish house at both locations.

Primary areas of responsibility

• Cleaning in churches and parish houses
• Practical tasks with preparation for services and other church ceremonies, including decorating the church, and subsequent cleanup
• Serving in connection with meetings in the church and parish premises, including setting the table, coffee brewing, setting up tables and chairs, and subsequent cleanup
• Purchases
• Various ad hoc tasks

We expect that you

• Have willingness and ability to collaborate, and a well-developed sense of a situation
• Can work independently and, on your own initiative, take responsibility for your tasks and have control of planning and prioritizing tasks
• Are approachable and will engage in close cooperation with other employees and volunteers
• Are flexible and prepared to work on weekends, holidays and to a lesser extent in the evenings
• Have knowledge of and are loyal to the Danish National Church and preferably with experience or familiarity with the role of a church caretaker
• Have technical understanding (microphones, sound system, projector, etc.) and have basic IT knowledge

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment takes place with the Nørre Snede - Hampen Parish Council, located at Rørbækvej 9, 8766 Nørre Snede.

The employment is covered by the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and OAO-S and the Organizational Agreement between the Ministry of Church and the Danish Church Caretaker Association and the accompanying protocol for church caretakers or gravediggers. The agreements can be viewed at www.folkekirkenspersonale.dk .

Current civil service church caretakers have the right to retain their civil service status upon appointment with direct transfer. In that case, a classification of the position must take place.

It is a condition that the mandatory 5-week training for church caretakers is completed within 2 years after the start of employment.

The annual salary is agreed within the range of 324,667.00 DKK - 408,841.00 DKK (current kroner).

There is standby obligation for the position. The standby allowance amounts to 33,231.00 DKK per year.

OK allowance of 1,401.00 DKK per year.

Note: the amounts stated are for a full-time position. Salary, OK allowance and standby allowance are quotered according to the position’s appointment fraction. Agreement on placement in the salary range is concluded between the parish council and the Danish Church Caretaker Association.

There is standby obligation for the position (work in the evenings, on holidays and Saturdays/Sundays).
