Cluster G on Amager is seeking a kitchen assistant for the day-care institution Viften

The working hours amount to 16 hours per week. The hours are distributed over four weekdays, so there is one weekly day off that falls on Friday.

The cluster consists of five units – a nursery and four integrated institutions. The units are located in the neighborhood around Holmbladsgade and Øresundsvej.

Viften has 36 nursery children and 40 kindergarten children, of which 20 kindergarten children are daily transported by our bus Globussen.

In the kitchen there is already a kitchen assistant employed for 30 hours per week, who holds the overall responsibility for meals, nutrition and ecology.

Food is produced in our own kitchen every day of the week for both the nursery, the kindergarten and Globussen.

Children must be offered food for morning, mid-morning, lunch and in the afternoon, where it is the kitchen staff's responsibility that groceries are purchased for the meals, and that the food and meal policy is followed. All ordering of goods is done electronically.

Key responsibilities include

• Planning and procurement
• Daily food production
• Cleaning and tidying up
• Self-inspection

We are establishing a “meeting room” for collaboration with the cluster's other kitchen staff, where experiences can be exchanged.

If needed, the kitchen staff may step in at the cluster's other units and help or take over.

Expectations

We place great emphasis on you being a person with drive, and that you are responsible and independent.

You must be able to maintain job satisfaction – even when we are busy and face the day's surprises openly. You must share responsibility for the good working environment and take ownership of your own learning.

We expect you to be reliable and flexible, and to view everyday life positively and enjoy going to work.

In the kitchen you must be able to engage in very close collaboration, and you must be able to express yourself both verbally and in writing in Danish. In addition, you should be prepared that the job requires good physical fitness.

The daily working hours are expected to be from 8.30-12.30, but may be adjusted if needed.
