Kitchen assistant sought for a children's institution in Østerbro – opportunity for a longer-term temporary position

FIRMAVIKAR is looking for an experienced and independent kitchen assistant for a children's institution in Østerbro, Copenhagen, with start on Monday, November 9, 2026.

We are looking for an employee who can take daily responsibility for the kitchen and prepare meals for about 60 children.

You will be working alone in the kitchen and therefore must be comfortable planning and carrying out the day's tasks independently. The meals are prepared based on a fixed menu/meal plan, and you are responsible for the whole process from cooking to tidying up and cleaning.

The temporary position runs in the first instance from 9 November to 18 December 2026 , but there are very good possibilities for extension for several months or longer.

Your tasks

• Preparation of daily meals for about 60 children according to a fixed meal plan.
• Independent responsibility for the daily operation of the kitchen.
• Preparation and mise en place of ingredients and meals.
• Ensure good hygiene and proper handling of food.
• Dishwashing, tidying and cleaning of the kitchen.
• Other practical kitchen tasks as needed.

We expect that you

• Have experience with cooking, preferably from institutional kitchen, canteen or large-scale kitchen.
• Can work independently and is used to taking responsibility.
• Can prepare meals for larger groups according to a menu or meal plan.
• Have knowledge of food hygiene and self-control.
• Have good Danish language skills.
• Are reliable, structured and thorough.
• Can start Monday, November 9, 2026.
