Construction Engineer for the Energy Renovation Department

Are you passionate about working with existing buildings and creating solutions that both reduce energy consumption and extend buildings' lifespans? At J&P in Holbæk we are looking for a building designer who will help develop and design energy renovation solutions that make a tangible difference for both the buildings and the people who live and work in them.

About J&P

We are a family-owned consulting engineering firm based in Holbæk. Since 1999 we have provided consultancy, and today we are 45 employees. We are large enough to handle complex projects, but still small enough that we know each other.

At J&P you will be part of a professional community where we work closely across disciplines, from structures and fire protection to sustainability, environment and HVAC. This means you are not left alone with your solutions, but always have colleagues to spar with.

We work on both smaller tasks for private clients and complex projects within residential buildings, commercial and industry. Common to all is that we take responsibility for the whole process, from the initial ideas to the finished solution.

About the position

As a building designer in our energy renovation department, you will be a central part of the work to develop and design solutions that improve the energy performance of existing buildings. You will be part of a team of five colleagues and follow the projects all the way, from the initial analysis and design to follow-up on the execution.

Your tasks will include

• Review and documentation of existing buildings
• Analysis of structures and energy improvement potentials
• Sketches and project proposals
• Design of energy renovation solutions
• Preparation of drawings and technical documentation
• Preparation of descriptions and tender documents
• Regulatory processing and dialogue with the municipality
• Professional supervision on the construction site with responsibility for correct execution
• Collaboration with clients, engineers and contractors
• Participation in project meetings and cross-disciplinary coordination

Your profile

You thrive on advising and designing and are motivated by finding solutions that are both technically well-founded and practically feasible. You have a natural interest in building structures and energy-related relations and can translate analyses into concrete solutions.

You work in a structured way with a focus on quality and have control of both details and the whole. At the same time, you thrive in an environment with close collaboration and professional sparring. You also have good situational awareness and interpersonal understanding, and you are able to meet people at eye level with respect and patience, whether residents, clients or craftsmen on site.

We envision that you

• Are educated as a building designer
• Have experience with design, renovation and/or building-technical analyses
• Have knowledge of energy renovation and energy efficiency of buildings
• Have experience in preparing descriptions
• Have knowledge of BR18 and other relevant legislation
• Have experience with technical drawing in Revit and work routinely with Bluebeam and the Microsoft Office suite
• Are curious and motivated for professional and technical development
• Have experience with architectural drawings – not a requirement, but a benefit

Practical information

• Full-time position with start on February 1, 2027
• Location: Holbæk with easy access to the highway and good parking facilities
• The position requires physical presence at our office in Holbæk, as we prioritize close daily collaboration. Therefore, working from home is not possible.
