Welcome to Procurement and Purchasing in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality

In Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, we work ambitiously with procurement, purchasing and contract management. We are today 10 specialized employees in the Department for Tendering and Purchasing, handling tasks within procurement, contract management, e-procurement and advisory.

In the coming years we will particularly focus on professionalizing procurement across the organization – we are therefore expanding the department with 3 new colleagues, including this position as contract manager.

We place great emphasis on a coherent thread in our procurement process – from needs assessment and tender materials to the final contract and contract follow-up – all with the aim of entering into contracts with the right partners, and the municipality receiving the desired goods and services in the correct quality.

Contract management is a new, but important part of our purchasing process, and as contract manager you will be one of our professional specialists in the area. We are already well underway with contract management work, and the ambition is to develop contract management even further with methods, templates and tools.

Our work is data-driven, and we conduct analyses so that we can continuously focus on ensuring that the municipality's procurement agreements are used appropriately, that the municipality purchases the agreed goods and services, achieves the agreed terms and prices, and that we choose sustainable solutions.

We collaborate with many different professionals in the organization, e.g. nurses, pedagogs, administrative staff, managers and directors. We collaborate with SKI (State and Municipal Procurement Service) and with our procurement community ICØ (Purchasing Circle East). Here we participate in expert and knowledge-sharing groups across municipalities, which provides opportunities for sparring with other specialists.

You will become part of a professionally ambitious environment where we value quality, collaboration, sparring and humor highly, and where we prioritize competence development. We think it should be exciting and fun to go to work. We look after each other well – even when it is busy.

Your tasks

As contract manager in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality you will have responsibility for your own portfolio of contracts, both for goods and services. At the same time you will become an important sparring partner for our procurement consultants, so that the tender and contract materials reflect our proactive contract management. We prioritize the contracts according to risk and contract value, so you spend your time where it makes the greatest difference.

You will, among other things,

  • spar with the procurement consultants during the procurement process about requirements, follow-up and collaboration, so that the contracts can be managed during the contract period
  • implement new contracts and establish supplier collaborations in collaboration with the departments
  • draft contract management plans and pursue in a systematic, structured and data-driven manner that the municipality gets what is agreed, both price and quality
  • hold supplier meetings and ensure good collaborations
  • advise departments and managers on the content of the contracts and available courses of action
  • develop and conduct analyses of the municipality's consumption with a focus on whether we use the municipality's funds in the best possible way
  • translate data and contract terms into concrete recommendations, which you present in presentations and notes
  • bring experiences from the contract period into upcoming procurements, so we continuously improve our requirements, contracts and collaboration models

Your profile

You may have experience with contract management, supplier management, procurement or purchasing, for example as a contract manager, procurement consultant, purchasing consultant. You may also be a recent graduate with a master's degree such as cand.merc., cand.merc.scm, cand.merc.jur or similar. The most important is that you are curious and eager to specialize in contract management. We have experienced colleagues who can help you become an expert in the field.

It would be advantageous if you

  • are approachable and can communicate with many different professional groups – clearly and precisely, both in writing and verbally
  • are collaborative and can build good relationships across the organization
  • have an understanding of contracts and can create good supplier collaborations – even when there may be ambiguities regarding contract terms
  • have good process understanding and a flair for project and meeting management
  • have an understanding of data work and are used to working in a structured way in Excel
  • are strategically minded, have impact and possess a healthy amount of business acumen
  • have the ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and present yourself as a subject-matter expert

In your application we would like to hear why you want to work with contract management, and which concrete experiences from your work or studies you can bring into play – preferably with your own examples.

Employment

You will be employed in the Center for Economy and Purchasing, which is a central staff unit with three departments: Tendering and Purchasing, Financial Management and Data Analysis, and Finance and Accounting. We work closely with the management and the rest of the organization – and we have a strong professional community across the three departments.

We are based at Lyngby Town Hall – centrally located on Hovedgaden with a short distance to Lyngby Station.

You will have the opportunity for flexible working conditions, with the possibility of, for example, home office.

Salary is set according to qualifications and the applicable collective agreement.

If you have questions about the position, you are welcome to contact Procurement Manager Mette Vinther at tel. 21279350 or Contract Manager Mette Nisted at tel. 21123121.
