About the job
Would you like to use your pedagogical expertise to create activities, projects and communities for children and young people across Aarhus Municipality? And do you enjoy a daily life where pedagogy, project coordination and development go hand in hand?
We are looking for an trained pedagog who wants to work with children and young people through a wide range of district-spanning activities, projects and events in UngiAarhus.
You will have a varied daily life with responsibility for both your own projects and joint efforts across the organization. You must be able to turn ideas into reality, maintain an overview of many different tasks and collaborate with children and young people, colleagues and external partners.
At the same time, your pedagogical expertise is essential. We see activities and events as more than something to plan and implement. They are also arenas where children and young people can feel they belong, influence, develop competencies and participate in meaningful communities.
About the job
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, developing and carrying out a range of district-spanning activities and projects. Some you drive yourself, while in others you act as an important partner for colleagues across UngiAarhus.
The tasks range from the initial idea and planning to coordinating participants and partners, practical execution and evaluation. You will also have tasks within fundraising, reporting, coordination, communication, social media and development of new activities and collaborations.
You must therefore be able to move between the pedagogical work with children and young people, the practical arrangement and the organizational coordination. It is important that you have attention to detail as well as the ability to see the larger purpose of the activities.
Your main tasks
From the start you will be responsible for a number of larger projects and events, where you must both create momentum and ensure that the pedagogical quality is integrated into the planning and implementation.
You will have a particular focus on
- OMG – One Music Generation: You coordinate the festival and collaborate with young people, colleagues and external actors to create a strong framework for the young people's own activities and initiatives. You ensure an overview of planning, practical aspects, safety and contingency, so the young people have good opportunities to shape and participate in the event.
- Summer at Ø: You plan and coordinate activities in weeks 27 and 28 and collaborate with colleagues and other actors to create safe, engaging and community-building summer experiences for children and young people.
- Vårsalong: You handle project planning, coordination of exhibitions, cooperation with participating municipalities and internal departments as well as the practical execution. You also help create frameworks in which children and young people can express themselves creatively and experience that their contribution has value.
- Development and new initiatives: You contribute ideas, develop activities with children, young people and colleagues and translate opportunities into concrete projects.
- Fundraising, communication and collaboration: You contribute to grant applications, reporting, meeting coordination, dissemination and development of collaborations that support the activities and the organization's efforts.
The tasks will vary throughout the year, and you must be prepared for larger events and activities that at times require extra planning and presence.
Pedagogical professionalism in practice
We are looking for a pedagog who can bring their expertise into play in many different contexts. This requires being attentive to the perspectives of children and young people and able to see the pedagogical possibilities in activities, projects and events.
It is about, among other things, creating good relationships, supporting participation and co-determination and being aware of how activities can be organized so that different children and young people have the opportunity to be involved.
You must be able to translate your pedagogical knowledge into concrete actions – both in encounters with children and young people and in the choices you make when planning and organizing an activity.
We do not expect you to have experience with all the mentioned projects or events. The most important is that you have solid pedagogical expertise and a desire to use it in a daily life where relationships, communities, creativity and coordination go hand in hand.
About you
You are a trained pedagog and motivated to create good opportunities for children and young people. You also want to work with projects and events where you will take responsibility, create an overview and coordinate many different tasks and people to work together.
We emphasize that you
- Have a strong pedagogical expertise and can translate it into practice in activities with children and young people.
- Build relationships and communities and have an eye for how children and young people get the opportunity to participate, influence and feel they belong.
- Can plan and coordinate and maintain an overview, even when several projects and events are running simultaneously.
- Take initiative and responsibility and can drive tasks from idea and planning to implementation and follow-up.
- Are a strong partner and thrive on collaborating with children and young people, colleagues, volunteers, associations and external actors.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and can convey activities and opportunities through relevant channels of communication, including social media.
- Are flexible and solution-oriented and can handle a varied daily life where plans can change and practical tasks must be solved.
It is an advantage if you have experience with project work, larger events, fundraising or cross-cutting collaborations. However, it is not a requirement that you have experience with it all. We are primarily interested in ensuring you can bring your pedagogical expertise into play and have the courage to develop yourself in the coordinating and organizational tasks.

You will become part of UngiAarhus , where we create activities, communities and opportunities for children and young people across Aarhus Municipality.
You will have broad contact and will collaborate with employees from different parts of the organization as well as with associations, cultural actors, volunteers and other external partners.
