We are seeking a daily pedagogical leader for Lille Højstrup Preschool. The position is for you who want to develop your leadership and take responsibility for high quality in the pedagogical work – or you who want to take your first step into pedagogical leadership. Here you will enter a warm-hearted and well-functioning house with clear structures, strong professional approaches and competent staff, where we work purposefully to create learning environments of high quality so that all children can participate.

A preschool with the children and quality at the center

Lille Højstrup is a small integrated preschool with children and families from many different cultural and social backgrounds. We work purposefully so that all children experience safety, participation and strong communities.

Children have only one childhood, and therefore we do not compromise on quality. We work purposefully and systematically to create learning environments of high quality all day – for all children.

Our pedagogical practice is data-informed and builds on both professional knowledge, experience and systematic evaluations. We work, among other things, with learning groups based on the Learning Goals Staircase (Pia Thomsen) and have a strong evaluation culture that ensures we continuously adjust practice and continuously develop the quality in the children’s everyday life. This means that what we do makes sense – for the children, for the staff and for the shared core task.

Leadership in community

Lille Højstrup Preschool is part of the Child Institution Bolbro-Højstrup, which consists of a total of eight preschools. As daily pedagogical leader you will become part of a strong and binding leadership community, where support, sparring and shared responsibility are fundamental terms.

Here leadership is not a solo achievement. You work closely with the head of the institution and the other leaders and enter a leadership space with clear direction, high professionalism and mutual trust. This provides security in the leadership role and room to develop your leadership.

Your role as daily pedagogical leader

As daily pedagogical leader you have responsibility and decision-making authority to set direction and prioritize within the shared framework, so staff can best express their professional expertise in practice.

You closely follow everyday life through dialogue, presence and reflection and have a particular eye for maintaining and further developing the high quality in the pedagogical work – including the systematic evaluation culture.

The staff are engaged, professionally strong and used to taking responsibility. They expect a leader who is clear, trustworthy and genuinely committed to the core task.

A special opportunity to strengthen parental collaboration

The Child Institution Bolbro-Højstrup is currently participating in a four-year project under the Ministry of Social Affairs, Family House Odense. The project has a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and early, early intervention, where parents are regarded as central partners.

The parents’ perspectives and knowledge about the child are included respectfully and professionally and linked with our professional competences. Through this equal partnership, we together create the best possible conditions for the child’s well-being and development.

The practical

This is a permanent position with start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The application deadline is November 13, 2026.

We expect to hold interviews in weeks 47 and 48.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the negotiating organization.

The position is paid according to the current collective agreement. The expected salary level is communicated before a possible interview and depends on experience and qualifications.
