About the job

The Children's and Youth Home Granly has just undertaken a recruitment process in which we were seeking a leader and a professional leader. We have filled the professional leadership position, and are now re-advertising regarding the overall leadership position.

The Children's and Youth Home has over the past year been engaged in an exciting development process, where method development, result documentation and professional approaches have had great focus. This will also continue to be in focus in the future.

If you would like to be a leader and contribute to this process and much more, we have a vacant position ready from 1 January 2027, and preferably sooner if possible.

The Children's and Youth Home Granly is a 24-hour institution with room for 9 placed children and youths, aged 10-18, with the possibility of subsequent youth support.

The target group may have experiences with insecure relationships, lack of emotional regulation, low self-esteem, difficulties in community, and limited trust in adults. These experiences often manifest as various inappropriate behaviours and distress, which the child/young person needs help to manage and develop themselves. Therefore there is intensive work to strengthen self-esteem, well-being and independence, so that the young person at some point can “stand on their own two feet”.

One of the future tasks will also be to clarify how the current target description matches the actual needs the organization has, and what it may call for in terms of new approaches, upskilling etc.

Granly is located in the small town of Understed in Sæby, in good, cozy and rural surroundings, with ample opportunities for a variety of activities.

The staff at Granly mainly consists of trained pedagogical personnel, and there is an awake night shift on site. The pedagogical approaches are, as an understanding framework, based on low arousal and mentalizing in a neuro-educational perspective . The latter has the staff just completed as a pedagogical diploma module.

Methodologically, we work with LA2, structured pedagogy and the STORM model, where there is a strong focus on documentation and follow-up regarding the interventions with the youths.

We are looking for a leader who

  • can take on the professional responsibility and ensure progress and organizational development of Granly, based on a holistic approach
  • will exercise presence in staff leadership, with recognition, motivation and engagement
  • has experience in working with children, youths and families in difficulties – and sees the importance of respectful collaboration with families and networks
  • has a flair for finances – and understands budgeting, planning and creating overview regarding resource use
  • will put themselves into play and contribute with new angles and ideas for task solving, both professionally and personally – at Granly as well as in the Center for Family as a whole
  • is prepared for shift-working hours
  • can participate in the function “leadership on-call” in the distribution key with professional leadership

We offer

  • that you become part of a unified leadership corps in the Center for Family – with participation of executive leaders, authority leaders, area leaders and center director – where we together work to create good cohesion, quality and common direction
  • an exciting position – where you get the opportunity to shape development, create meaningful frameworks and make a big difference for children, youths and families – together with the other staff
  • engaged, skilled and stable employees
  • easy access to many different professional fields and roles in both your own center and from other centers in the municipality
  • an informal, positive and helpful working environment – with respect for diversity and good tone – even when the waves can be a bit high and everyday life feels hectic
  • reference to area leader – and a professional leader who reports to you
