About the job

Do you want to help your fellow students achieve a good study life? Are you passionate about creating a good study environment? Are you proactive and persistent? Then you are the one we are looking for!

We sadly have to say goodbye to one of our skilled colleagues, and therefore we are now looking for a new study environment tutor, especially for work with the business and social economics programs at the Institute of Social Sciences and Business.

About the position

As a study environment tutor you will help support and develop a motivating and good study life, where academic and social community is in the foreground. You will primarily work with the study environment for the business and social economics programs and the coherence between the bachelor’s part and the master's level. In this position you will work with students, many of whom have an international background. You will build bridges between different cultures and contribute to an inclusive study environment.

An important part of the job is to plan activities that strengthen community and help international students navigate the Danish university world – including the unwritten rules, working methods and expectations.

In addition, you will help create a good atmosphere among the students across the institute’s programs and years in close collaboration with the other study environment tutors.

You will have the opportunity to work with the following tasks

  • Planning and execution of the start of studies.
  • Idea development, planning and execution of social and academic events that support the study environment.
  • Information campaigns and presentations, e.g. Open House and at the various programs.
  • Support for study leaders and team coordinators with, for example, the execution of academic activities and workshops.
  • Overview of and support for the physical study environment in the ISE buildings.

In the job you will

  • Flexible working hours – Adapt the work to your everyday life and studies.
  • Freedom to put your own mark – Opportunity to shape your tasks and dive into areas you are passionate about or want to develop within.
  • Strengthen your competencies in project management – Get practical experience planning and delivering events, workshops and projects.
  • Opportunity to work as part of a dedicated community – Work closely with talented students, teachers and study leaders.
  • Opportunity to become an active part of student life at RU – Contribute to creating exciting activities and events on campus.
  • Training in both verbal and written communication and presentation – Become confident in giving talks in front of larger groups and handling various communication tasks.
  • A deeper understanding of the university’s internal structures and processes - Including the administrative functions that support daily operations.

You will become part of a team of six study environment tutors at the Institute of Social Sciences and Business, where you work closely across areas. You will also collaborate with study leaders, teachers and the students themselves. You will receive ongoing introduction and training, and it is not expected that you can do everything from the start – only that you are curious and proactive.
