About the job

Do you want to be part of developing tomorrow's emergency nursing close to the citizen? At Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospitals we are well underway in establishing the Department for Citizen-Focused Health, where Emergency Nursing from January 1, 2027 will be a central part of the department and cover the five municipalities Fanø, Varde, Esbjerg, Billund and Vejen, where there will be reception points for emergency nursing in connection with health and care places.

We are looking for several nurses who want to help shape the future of emergency nursing close to the citizen's own home. You will become part of a new department in development – and where you will have the opportunity to influence both professionalism, workflows and forms of collaboration.

The department is led by Chief Nurse Jane Birkebæk and Chief Physician Bahareh B. Philipsen, while Emergency Nursing is led by Deputy Chief Nurses Hanne Osbæck and Winnie Lodberg Kristoffersen in close duo leadership. We place emphasis on present leadership, close dialogue and a short route between employees and management.

About the job We are looking for more nurses – mainly with reception in Billund and Vejen, but also broadly to ensure a strong and coherent 24/7 regional emergency nursing.

Emergency Nursing plays a central role in ensuring high quality and coherence for citizens – especially in transitions between hospital, municipality and general practice.

You will among other things work with

  • Clinical assessments and observations of the citizen, including ABCDE and vital signs
  • Holistic nursing assessments
  • Initiation and follow-up of physician-ordered treatment
  • Instrumental nursing tasks, including IV treatment, catheter and feeding tube
  • Diagnostic and microbiological investigations
  • Telephone and virtual counseling as well as professional sparring with municipal nursing
  • Cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary collaboration around the citizen's pathway

Emergency Nursing must be able to handle tasks within the nurses' reserved professional area.

We expect that you

  • have strong clinical competencies and can perform clear clinical leadership
  • can work independently and make professional decisions
  • can build good relationships and collaborate across professions, sectors and municipalities
  • can maintain an overview in a daily life that can be busy, unpredictable and allow for in-depth work
  • are keen to develop both professionalism, workflows and collaboration forms

We offer

  • The opportunity to be part of establishing and shaping a completely new department
  • A close duo leadership with short path to management
  • High degree of influence on the development of Emergency Nursing
  • A varied everyday life with exciting professional challenges
  • Close professional sparring with doctors in Citizen-Focused Health
  • A strong collaboration with municipalities, general practice and other partners
  • A good collegial community, where we together shall create the new Emergency Nursing

Have we aroused your curiosity? We are already a group of employees looking forward to welcoming new colleagues – and we hope your application will be the next we receive.
