About the job
Do you want to help create strong leadership and high quality in home care?
As a district manager you will be an important part of a home care service where professionalism, collaboration and care for both citizens and employees are at the center. You are close to daily operations and create direction, security and ownership through visible and hands-on leadership. Together with your fellow managers you take responsibility for the whole and actively contribute to developing a home care service where success comes from community, quality and strong cross-site collaboration.
So, you might be our new district manager in Home Care.
A single home care service in development
The Home Care Service in Helsingør Municipality provides interdisciplinary care and support pathways to about 1,700 citizens and consists of about 500 employees spread across six sites.
We have gathered the home care service under one common leadership and work across districts to create a stronger common direction, greater cohesiveness and a shared responsibility for the entire home care service. At the same time, we are in the midst of an exciting development, where, among other things, holistic care, fixed interdisciplinary teams, the Elder Reform and the Health Reform impose new demands on how we collaborate, lead and organize ourselves.
As a district manager you will therefore be an important part of both the close leadership in your district and the development of the entire home care service.
About the job
You report to the head of home care and, together with the other district managers, form part of home care’s overall leadership group. You must create the framework for that employees can succeed with the core task, and that citizens experience a professionally sound, coherent and dignified effort.
Your leadership must be visible, present and clear. You must be able to set a direction and follow up – but also be curious about practice and create engagement and ownership through dialogue and involvement.
An important part of the task is to ensure daily operations function. You must have an eye for resources, capacity, economy and the working environment and be able to prioritize when everyday needs and considerations pull in different directions.
At the same time we expect you to lift your gaze from your own district. We want a strong leadership community where the district managers take joint responsibility for the entire home care service, share knowledge and experiences and find solutions across boundaries.
You will among other things be responsible for
- creating clear direction and ensuring stable and well-functioning daily operations
- leading, developing and retaining employees and supporting a good working environment
- ensuring high professional quality and coherence in citizens’ pathways
- systematically working with resource management, capacity planning and economy
- translating new requirements, strategies and decisions into meaningful practice
- supporting the implementation of new workflows and development initiatives
- close collaboration with coordinators and other professional and supporting functions
- actively contributing to interdisciplinary collaboration around citizens’ overall needs
- being an active part of the home care leadership group and contributing to joint solutions across districts.
Who are you?
We are looking for a leader who can stand securely in daily operations and help develop the home care service.
You have leadership experience and preferably experience from the health and care sector or another complex operations organization. You understand what it takes to lead employees with different professional backgrounds and create balance between professional quality, well-being, citizens’ needs and the resources at our disposal.
As a person you are a leader who builds trust through presence, clarity and integrity. You have the courage to set a direction and make decisions, even when the framework changes. At the same time you meet people and tasks with curiosity, naturally collaborate across, and have an eye for both employees, professional quality, operations and the shared task in home care.
You will become part of a strong leadership community
You will become part of a leadership group where we want to use each other actively and take joint responsibility for the development of home care. We work with clearer common frames and direction, while there must be room for leadership close to employees and everyday local life.
You will not be alone with the task either. The home care service has cross-cutting functions that support operations, quality and development, and there is access to support functions including HR, finance, occupational health and safety, as well as quality and development.
We offer
- A diverse leadership position with great opportunity to influence both daily life in your own district and the development of the entire home care service.
- A workplace with high professionalism, engaged employees and high ambitions for the future of home care.
- An leadership community where cooperation, shared responsibility and development are high on the agenda.
- Possibility for ongoing leadership development and professional sparring.
