About the job
Ambulances, helicopters, patient flow, capacity and activity planning. It is not small matters at stake in Hospital Logistics. We are now seeking an Area Leader who can bring the specialists together, set the direction and bring the digital solutions closer to the clinic.
When an ambulance needs to be allocated, an activity planned or the hospital's capacity used as best as possible, the digital solutions must play a role.
Hospital Logistics manages, develops and operates Region Central Denmark's central booking system as well as critical logistical IT solutions for the hospitals and the Pre-hospital Service. As Area Leader you will be responsible for a highly specialized area with importance for both staff, operations and patients.
It is a leadership task with a great opportunity to shape the development – both in Hospital Logistics and across the regional health service.
You will set the direction for a strong specialist environment
You will have the personnel responsibility for 21 skilled employees who work with product management, suppliers, releases, projects and support.
Your task is not to be the biggest specialist in the room. It is to create direction and coherence for the strong professional expertise that already exists.
You must prioritise and ensure that tasks, ambitions and resources hang together. You must be close enough to the expertise to understand it, curious enough to challenge it, and clear enough to make decisions.
At the same time you should create a strong professional community where employees thrive, share knowledge and develop their competencies.
A central role in the digital development of the health system
As Area Leader you will not only be responsible for your own area. You will also be part of the strategic work to prioritise and develop digital solutions across the Central Denmark Region.
You will become part of the steering group in the region's domain-based way of working, where clinical, organizational and technical perspectives meet, and where common priorities are set. Here you will bring Hospital Logistics' professional knowledge into the strategic discussions – and translate common decisions into direction and action in your area.
At the same time the health reform has a major impact on Hospital Logistics. From 2027 the region will take over new health tasks from the municipalities, to be carried out at new locations, in citizens' homes and across hospitals and municipalities. This creates new needs for planning, coordination, capacity management and digital solutions that can tie it all together.
It requires strong collaboration and good relational skills. Hospital Logistics has many interfaces with among others the clinic, Health IT, users, Digitalisation and IT, suppliers, consultants and the other regions. You must be able to bring together different interests and professional groups and create momentum, even when solutions are not straightforward.
What we expect from you
Leadership experience is a requirement. You have experience with people management and can create direction, well-being and development for employees with strong professional competencies. You also have a solid IT understanding and can grasp complex technical and organizational contexts.
We also expect that you
- can translate strategy into priorities, actions and follow-up – and dare to prioritise and deprioritise
- communicates clearly and builds strong relations across disciplines and organizational levels
- can navigate in a complex organization with many interests and dependencies
- takes joint responsibility for the whole and actively contributes to the shared leadership work
It is an advantage if you have experience with health technology, professional product management, supplier management and a politically led organization.
Welcome to Clinical and Administrative Products
Hospital Logistics is part of Clinical and Administrative Products in Digitalisation and IT. Here, nine areas work to manage, develop and operate digital products for the benefit of clinicians and patients.
You will become part of the office's management team together with the Office Head and the other area leaders. Here you will have the opportunity for professional sparring and the chance to influence both your own area and the overall development of the office.
Is it you we should have with us?
Send your application and your CV no later than 25 October 2026. We expect to hold the first interview on 6 November and the second on 12 November. Before then you can expect to participate in a personality test.
Your primary workplace will be Olof Palmes Allé in Aarhus N, but there will also be days with meeting activity elsewhere in the region.
If you have questions, you are welcome to contact Office Head Henrik Storgaard Vestring and preferably by SMS at 29434562.
Salary and terms of employment are set in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and after negotiation with the relevant organisation.
The position is exempt from the requirement for time tracking.
Flexible work life, ongoing development and good framework
You will experience that there is focus on you as a leader and as a person. We work with ongoing development conversations and regular 1:1s with your immediate manager, so you always have a focus on your well-being and development. A good work life also means time for a life outside of work.
As a new leader in our large organization we ensure a carefully planned onboarding process, where you, among other things, participate in our internal academy, where you get to know the entire organization better.
