As a new employee, you will be part of a department in development, and your experience will carry significant weight in how we work moving forward. Psychiatric Ward 5 in Viborg opened for the first patients on 6 April 2026, and we are continuing to build the ward together.

We are seeking engaged social- and health care assistants who want to be part of a newly established ward with professional immersion, genuine influence, and a strong collegial community.

The ward is a general psychiatric inpatient ward with 16 beds and a subspecialty in geriatric psychiatry. Care, structure and relationship-based work are central elements in daily life, and you will become part of a multidisciplinary team where we help each other, learn together and support each other in difficult situations. With us, we work with heart and head, and we always strive to see the person behind the illness.

Your everyday life with us

As a social- and health care assistant, you will be a key person in the patients’ everyday lives. You provide care and support based on the individual patient’s needs and resources, which can range from personal hygiene and meals to helping create daily structure through activities and sleep rhythm.

You actively work with prevention and conflict management, where the focus is to create calm and security and avoid coercion, and you are a central part of the rehabilitative work, where patients are helped to regain skills and belief in themselves. In addition, you observe and document the patients’ condition and development, and you collaborate closely with colleagues, relatives and other professional groups to create coherence in the care pathways.

About the Psychiatric Department

We are part of Hospital Unit Midt in the Region of Central Denmark and treat adults over 18 for a range of psychiatric disorders, primarily patients from Viborg, Silkeborg and Skive municipalities. We have 72 beds distributed across wards in Viborg and Silkeborg, including three psychotic wards, an affective inpatient ward and our general ward with a subspecialty in geriatric psychiatry. The practical

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the area.

With reference to the Act on child certificates in connection with the employment of staff, a child certificate will be obtained in connection with any employment.
