About the job
Parental leave replacement
Do you have an eye for a good story, are you a strong communicator – both behind and in front of the camera – and would you like to make TV in Danish Sign Language?
Then maybe you are the one we are looking for to a parental leave replacement at Døvefilm until July 2027.
Your primary task will be as a producer/editor and host on Udsyn, where you develop and produce stories about Deaf life, Deaf culture and the society around us. In addition you will be about four days per month a news presenter on TEGN Nyt, where you convey the day’s news in Danish Sign Language.
About the job
Udsyn is Døvefilm's magazine program with 40 broadcasts of 30 minutes each per year. We tell both intimate, personal stories and stories with larger cultural and societal perspectives – through portraits, reports, documentary storytelling and entertainment.
As a producer you follow the stories from idea to finished program. You pitch, research, find participants, develop scripts, plan shoots and work closely with the editor and technicians on the finished narrative. You are also a presenter on Udsyn, where you prepare and present pitches and segments that knit the program's stories together.
About four days per month you are also a news presenter on TEGN Nyt. Here you translate and convey the day’s news in clear, natural and precise Danish Sign Language. You must therefore be comfortable in front of the camera and able to make complex material engaging and understandable.
Who are we looking for?
You preferably have a journalistic or media background – or equivalent experience. You have an eye for the good story, can work independently and are keen to develop ideas with others.
You fluently master Danish Sign Language, have a good knowledge of Deaf culture and are a strong communicator – both as a storyteller and as a presenter in front of the camera. Experience as a presenter or news presenter is an advantage but not required.
We also value that you
· er nyfus, creative and good at finding stories and angles
· can take responsibility for a production from idea to finished program
· works in a structured way and thrives with cross-team collaboration
· has an understanding of visual storytelling and preferably experience with editing in Avid or similar programs.
Who are we?
Døvefilm produces TV and digital content in Danish Sign Language – by and for the Deaf. Danish Sign Language is our working language and a natural part of everyday life.
We are a small production house with journalists, editors, hosts, technicians and administrative staff. With us, there is not a long distance from idea to action, and you will have the opportunity to develop your own stories and become part of a creative and professional community.
You will primarily be part of the Udsyn editorial team, but you will also work with the TEGN Nyt editorial team on your hosting shifts.
Practical
The position is a parental leave replacement at 32 hours per week from January 1 to July 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Workplace: Døvefilm, Uplandsgade 72, 2300 Copenhagen S.
Salary and other terms of employment are based on state conditions and collective agreement.
How to apply
Send your application and CV to [email protected] ref: Application no later than November 16, 2026 at 12:00.
We would also like to see you in action! Therefore we ask you to send a short video in Danish Sign Language (max. 2 minutes), where you present an idea for a piece in Udsyn. Please tell what the story is about and why you think it is worth telling.
The video can be sent via WeTransfer or shared as a link together with your application.
We expect to conduct interviews at the end of November. If you have questions about the position, you are welcome to contact Jens Luckenbach on FT/WhatsApp: 31232791.
