Dormitory assistant with drive and a sense for youth communities

Then you may be our new college assistant at the Vocational College Dormitory (Erhvervskollegiet) in Vejle.

As our good and capable colleague is approaching retirement, we are currently looking for an engaged college assistant who is passionate about combining pedagogical work with activities, practical tasks and daily operations in a lively college environment.

Erhvervskollegiet in Vejle – your new workplace

At Erhvervskollegiet in Vejle, students from all over the country live while they study at Syddansk Erhvervsskole. Here everyday life is characterised by community, activity and development.

The college includes billiards, cinema, common areas, multi-sport hall, climbing wall and mountain bikes. You will be a visible adult in the students’ free time and help create the framework for an attractive and safe youth environment.

As a college assistant you will be part of a strong team where we work together for high well-being and an active college life. Part of the job involves planning and implementing activities, motivating students to participate and helping everyone feel part of the community.

At the same time you will be involved in the daily operations and administrative tasks that keep the college functioning.

Are you our new colleague?

We are looking for someone who naturally takes responsibility, is good at making contact, motivating and leading – and who thrives in a day where no day is the same.

You are clear in your communication, meet young people at eye level and are able to both support, motivate and set a direction when the situation requires it.

You are motivated by creating experiences and activities that bring the students together. Perhaps you have experience with sport, outdoor life, events or association work. If you have experience as a climbing or mountain bike instructor, that is definitely an advantage.

In addition you are structured and can maintain an overview, even when many tasks are in the air. You take responsibility for the tasks and actively contribute to both the practical operations and the administrative part of the job.

Your educational background is less important. You could be a teacher, pedagogue, social worker or come with experience from a completely different industry. The most important thing is that you can build good relationships with young people and want to be an active role model in their everyday life.

Employment

The position is a permanent full-time appointment with an individual contract where pay and conditions follow the applicable Agreement on the new pay system for civil servants and civil servant-like employees within the Association of technical and administrative civil servants for the negotiating area (TAT).

Workplace is in Vejle.

Employment from 1 January 2027 – or as soon as possible after further agreement.

You will be part of a fixed duty roster with a 3-week cycle.

Your working hours will be a combination of day, evening and night shifts, including Sunday night shifts from 19:00 approx. every 3rd week. Sleeping night shifts at the vocational college may be expected (Sunday to Thursday) every third week.
