Operations Manager for the establishment at Vordingborg Barracks

About us

The Establishment and Terrain Command (ETK) supports and services military operational units and other authorities under the Ministry of Defence. We are responsible for delivering and developing the physical framework that is necessary for their work.

Our area of responsibility includes new construction, maintenance and facility management in the form of, among other things, cleaning, canteen and grounds care. In addition, we handle environmental and energy tasks and nature management of the Defence’s terrains.

ETK has 29 establishment partner elements (EP) in the country, where we ensure a strengthened local presence and proximity to the users. We are responsible for building operation and smaller maintenance tasks.

We handle all questions, inquiries or matters related to facility management and to operating the facilities locally.

EP in Vordingborg currently consists of an EP chief, a deputy commander, two administrative senior assistants, 8 property service technicians/skilled workers, 2 craftsmen, 11 cleaning assistants/service assistants and a supervisor.

About the position

In collaboration with the EP chief and the deputy commander you plan, prioritize and initiate deliveries and tasks related to establishment operations, building maintenance, technical projects and cleaning – just as you contribute to the continuous development of the EP.

You prepare and implement local operating plans for service deliveries and tasks based on the current operating manual and procurement processes.

Examples of today’s tasks could be the following

• Coordinate daily task execution and building maintenance
• Coordinate with external suppliers
• Provide input to budgeting and budget follow-up
• Purchasing and goods receipt
• Ensure quality in own production and external deliveries
• Ensure follow-up on complaints, faults and deficiencies, where you take responsibility for the problem-solving process.

The range of your collaboration interfaces is broad, which provides great dynamism and a good network.

There will be travel activity around the country to all establishments, and periodically work outside normal working hours may occur. Your weekly working hours are 37 hours including a lunch break, and your fixed workplace is at Vordingborg Barracks.

About you

You have a strong professional profile with fundamental knowledge and experience in facility management, and you have experience with the following:

• People management
• Production planning
• Statutory inspections
• Operation and maintenance of buildings and technical installations
• Financial and budget management
• Customer and supplier relations
• Case handling
• IT

You are presumably trained as a craftsman with supplementary education in management; for example an academy profession education in management or have a minimum of 4 core modules of the academy profession education (akademiuddannelsen) or other relevant leadership experience from an operations organization.

You place a high value on open communication, a solution-focused approach, have an understanding of processes and possess the ability to make difficult decisions as a natural part of your personal toolkit.

Furthermore you easily create and maintain stable and long-lasting relationships - even in a daily life with a changing and sometimes high tempo

Employment terms

You will be employed under the applicable state collective agreement in force at any given time.

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is the possibility of negotiation of an allowance. There is an employer-funded pension scheme attached to the position.

The position is available from January 1, 2027 or by arrangement.

The workplace is in Vordingborg.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be able to obtain security clearance and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.

As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.
