About the job

Rødovre Parkvej Skole seeks pedagogical staff for a fixed-term position

Would you like to help create safe surroundings and make a difference for children in their daily lives?

Rødovre Parkvej School seeks engaged and relationship-oriented staff with pedagogical experience for a fixed-term position until December 18, with the possibility of extension.

We are looking for both pedagogues, pedagogical assistants, teaching aides and others who want to join a strong community around our students.

Rødovre Parkvej School, 1st floor.

On the 1st floor we work with students with autism spectrum disorders and various comorbid challenges such as ADHD, ADD, OCD, anxiety as well as behavioral and emotional difficulties.

Several of our students have previously had difficult school experiences and may have experienced school refusal, strain or demand-avoiding behaviour. They therefore need a school environment with safety, clarity, predictability and individually tailored frameworks.

We focus on life skills and social training, and independence is practiced in both large and small steps – e.g., being able to transport themselves, participate in a leisure activity or take the initiative in social communities.

Meaningful teaching

In teaching it is crucial that students can see the meaning of what they are learning. We therefore base our approach on each student’s interests, motivation, learning style and current functional level.

Tasks and activities must be clear, understandable and have a purpose that the student can understand. We are also aware that students’ academic abilities can fluctuate, and that, for example, sounds, lights, smells and other sensory experiences can affect their ability to participate and concentrate.

About the job

As part of our pedagogical staff you will become an important adult in the students’ daily life. You will work closely with teachers and pedagogues to create structure, well-being and good relationships – both in teaching, during breaks and in the school’s other activities.

Your tasks may include

· support students in their learning and in their social participation

· help create calm, structure and predictability in daily life

· participate in activities, breaks etc.

· collaborate with the school’s other staff on students’ well-being and development

· be an attentive and clear adult whom the students can trust.

We are looking for you who

· have a pedagogical education or relevant experience with children and young people

· are good at creating relationships and meeting children with calm, curiosity and clarity

· can maintain an overview in a busy day

· are flexible and want to collaborate in a professional community

· contribute with good humor and engagement.

It is an advantage if you have experience from school, after-school care (SFO) or other pedagogical environments, but the most important is your approach to children and your ability to build good relationships.

We offer

At Rødovre Parkvej School you will become part of a school with engaged staff and a strong focus on community, well-being and academic excellence.

We offer
