About the job

Pedagogical staff member for VIP House

We are seeking a new colleague for a 37-hour-per-week position and hope to welcome you around December 1, 2026.

About VIP House

VIP House is a social-pedagogical residential facility in Amager with a 24/7 house offering 10 places and 10 associated apartments. We are seeking a staff member for the house, where young women aged 15–27 live. The young people have different resources and support needs, which can be related to autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, or social challenges.

The relationship with each young person is central. We work in an affirming, structured, and autism-friendly way based on the young person’s wishes, resources, and goals.

Everyday life with us

You help a young person get an overview of the day’s appointments, have a conversation about something difficult, accompany them to treatment, or cook together with the young people.

VIP House is their home, and ordinary practical tasks are also part of the job. We help each other and emphasize that you notice the tasks and take on responsibility.

You must be able to keep an overview and follow up. We coordinate many appointments around the young people, and it is important that both they and colleagues know what is going to happen.

Placement teacher and professional responsibility

You become the contact teacher for two young people. Together with a colleague, you coordinate the effort, work with goals, monitor development, and prepare status descriptions. On your workdays, you are also part of the whole house and support the young people who need you.

Documentation is an important part of the job. We continuously describe development and support needs so that the young person, the team, and the municipality can follow the effort and its alignment with the goals.

Health-related tasks

Medication distribution and health-related tasks are part of everyday life with support from our health coordinator. You receive training and a medication course before you independently handle medication management.

Working hours

The house operates around the clock, so you must be able to work at different times and have long shifts. You work every other weekend and have a night shift every other week. The long shifts also provide more consecutive days off. It is important that this working pattern fits into your life.

You work according to a base work plan. Wednesday is our common day with team meetings, supervision, and pedagogical conferences, where we follow up on the young people’s trajectories and discuss our work.

Who do we hope you are?

We are not looking for one specific profile, but you must have a relevant education, for example as a social educator, pedagog, teacher, social worker, psychotherapist, or similar.

Experience with the target group and methods is an advantage. The most important is that you want to learn, are open to sparring, and treat the young people with respect, even when things are difficult.

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. We need a colleague who takes responsibility, asks questions when something is unclear, and follows up on agreements – both in relational work and in documentation.

What you get with us

You will receive a mentor who introduces you to the work and supports you in the first period. Our professional and health coordinators support you, among other things, in goal setting, status descriptions, and health-related tasks.

You will become part of a professionally strong staff group and a skilled substitute group who know the young people. We help each other, take shared responsibility, and speak openly about what is difficult or requires professional sparring.

The human perspective in everyday life

As part of the Diakonissestiftelsen, we work from the value of seeing the person unconditionally. For us, that means trying to understand the young person rather than only seeing the behavior or the diagnosis. We meet each individual with respect and dignity while maintaining our professional responsibility. The same view of humanity should characterize collaboration among colleagues.
