About the job

Would you like to work at a residential care facility where the vision is to give residents as much influence as possible over their own lives? If so, read on here.

Hulegården is a residential facility in Brøndby for adults with various cognitive disabilities.

We are seeking a pedagogue for a permanent position of 37 hours per week, and the position is available as of November 1, 2026. You will become part of an engaged staff group that places professionalism, collaboration and development at the forefront.

Your main tasks are to

  • support residents' mastery according to their individual needs – from personal hygiene to other daily routines
  • support residents to live a life based on their wishes and dreams
  • support residents in making appropriate choices
  • believe that residents can.

You get

  • a daily life where you have a high degree of influence on how your work is organized and plenty of opportunity to develop your professional skills and ideas
  • professional development through post-/further education, courses, theme days and supervision
  • a good onboarding and thorough introduction with a mentor during the first 6 months of your employment.

About you

We are looking for someone who is academically and practically grounded in the specialized social field. We expect that you:

  • are a trained pedagogue
  • have experience with or an interest in working with people with cognitive disabilities
  • are present, engaged and responsible
  • can work independently and in teams
  • have good communication skills and are attentive to residents, relatives and colleagues.

The most important thing is that you have your heart in the right place – the rest you can learn.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • can create well-being and development for residents through participation, structure and predictability
  • is curious, validating and exploratory regarding residents' behavior
  • is familiar with Low Arousal, visual communication and physical structure
  • has a calm nervous system and well-developed mentalization ability
  • is dependable, consistent and flexible
  • approaches the work with equality, respect and trust towards residents and colleagues.

The residents at Hulegården

At Hulegården, up to 40 different people live with varying wishes, dreams and needs. Some residents have substantial needs for support, e.g., personal hygiene, while others have less extensive needs for daily activities.

All residents at Hulegården have the ability to communicate – some with verbal language, others with sign language or in other ways. Most residents have an active verbal language, while some function at an early development stage.

The staff at Hulegården

We work in a network-based approach with and around each resident. All residents have a network of staff that ensures continuity and coordination. Together we determine what the resident's wishes, dreams and needs are, and how we best support and guide the resident to meet them.

You are hired for two things: professionalism and collaboration. You solve tasks across Hulegården, and the relationship with all residents, colleagues and external partners is therefore an important part of the job. We continually provide each other with sparring, feedback and guidance on professional questions and workflows. We believe that the work environment and culture is something we create together.

The daily pedagogical tasks are planned and carried out based on – and in collaboration with – each individual resident. We document daily in Nexus, so it would be an advantage if you know the system.

As Hulegården is a 24-hour facility, you will have rotating day/evening and weekend shifts. Here there is the option to work every other weekend or three weekends over 8 weeks. We emphasise that both work life and private life must work for each employee.

We have permanent on-site night staff, so your shifts will predominantly be in the hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
