At Station Nord we are looking for a dedicated pedagogue who wants to make a difference for young people with complex social and psychological challenges.

About Station Nord

Behind the red bricks in Løgstrup, just outside Viborg, you will find Station Nord. A social-pedagogical children and youth home with room for 10 youths aged 12-17 and the possibility for aftercare up to 23 years old.

Our youths have various life stories, but common for many are experiences of care neglect, attachment difficulties and other psychosocial challenges. Some struggle with substance abuse, self-harming behavior or behavior indicating risk of criminal activity.

We work from a fundamental understanding that behind the youth's behavior there is a person with a need for safe relationships, clear boundaries and help to find new ways.

Our pedagogical work is based on an affirming, narrative and relationship-oriented approach. We use, among other things, motivational interviewing (MI), social skills training and the KAT-kassen.

The rural surroundings provide space for calm and immersion, while a structured daily life creates predictability for the youths.

About the position

As a pedagogue at Station Nord you become an important part of the youths' daily life. You must be able to create relationships, set clear and respectful boundaries, and support the youths in developing new ways to handle their challenges.

It requires both professionalism, patience and the ability to stay calm when a situation does not develop as expected.

Your main tasks will be

• Create safe, stable and predictable environments for the youths.
• Work purposefully with relationship-building, motivation and the individual youth's development.
• Support the youths in everyday tasks, schooling, social relations and personal challenges.
• Prevent and handle conflicts with a calm, clear and affirming approach.
• Work systematically with individual goals, action plans and professional documentation.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, relatives, authorities and other relevant professionals.

You will become part of a workplace where we help each other succeed, and where a common pedagogical direction is crucial to the youths' development.

Who are you?

We are seeking a pedagogue who stands firm in their professional expertise, but who also knows that good relationship work begins with meeting people where they are.

• Are a trained pedagogue, preferably with experience from the specialized social sector.
• Are relationship-strong, clear and can build trust with youths who may have difficulty trusting adults.
• Can remain calm and maintain an overview in pressured and unpredictable situations.
• Work in a structured way and can translate pedagogical goals and methods into practice.
• Takes responsibility, actively contributes to the community and values professional sparring.
• Has a valid B driving license.

You do not need to have experience with all our target groups or methods. The most important is that you have a strong pedagogical foundation, a desire to learn and the courage for a daily life where no two days are the same.
