About the job

Would you like to help improve Odense's green spaces and outdoor settings – and create visible results in the city's local areas?

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated project coordinator for a fixed-term position, where you will coordinate and follow up on the outdoor projects under the Welfare Foundation program. You will become part of the Climate and Environment Administration and will work closely with internal departments, local partnerships and project responsible persons across the municipality.

The Welfare Foundation is Odense Municipality's overall investment in the physical framework for welfare. Under the program, we work on about 80 outdoor projects in the city's local areas. The projects vary in size – from small, locally anchored initiatives to larger construction tasks. Many of them involve upgrading green areas, but there can also be new trails, signage and activity spaces in nature.

Your tasks You will play a central role in creating overview, ensuring progress and supporting collaboration around the projects. You will, among other things,:

  • Follow up on progress, finances, risks and timelines in a portfolio of about 80 projects.
  • Coordinate activities across administrations, disciplines and contracting units.
  • Contribute professional knowledge about green areas, nature and outdoor spaces when projects are planned and implemented.
  • Support dialogue with local partnerships, citizens and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare status notes, decision briefs, presentations and other management materials.
  • Prepare material for political meetings, steering groups and coalition circles.
  • Contribute to clear and timely communication about the projects' status, changes and results.
  • Plan and follow up on meetings, agreements and deliverables.

We imagine that you

  • Have experience with project coordination, project management or a similar role.
  • Have a green professional background, e.g. as a landscape architect, landscape engineer, Forest and Landscape Engineer, agronomy technologist, or similar – or solid experience with construction and operation of green areas.
  • Are structured and can create an overview of many parallel tasks and dependencies.
  • Write clearly, precisely and with the target audience in mind.
  • Thrive in collaboration with many different disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Are good at building relationships, following up on agreements and getting tasks to a finish.
  • Work independently, take responsibility and stay calm when priorities change.

It is advantageous if you have experience with outdoor construction projects, from a politically governed organization or with municipal project and decision-making processes, but it is not a requirement.

Why choose us You will become part of a dedicated office that works with visible development projects throughout Odense. You will enjoy a varied everyday life with many collaboration surfaces, a high level of independence and the opportunity to contribute concretely to green spaces, trails and activity spaces that citizens can use and enjoy.

  • A diverse portfolio of outdoor projects in many sizes – with both strategic and practical tasks.
  • Close collaboration with skilled and helpful colleagues across the municipality.
  • An workplace with a fast pace, professionalism and room for good collegiality.

About us The Climate and Environment Administration works with a broad field within climate, mobility, traffic, environment, nature as well as the operation and development of the city's green areas. We strive for ambitious goals and for Odense to be a greener, more beautiful and more attractive city to live and move in.

Salary and employment terms The position is a fixed-term full-time role of 37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment runs until December 31, 2027, by which time all projects must be completed.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local salary setting.
