About the job

Fritidscenter Indre Valby seeks an engaged colleague for our Outreach Team, who also has hours in UngeVærk (and UnderVærk) Indre Valby.

Fritidscenter Indre Valby consists of six leisure clubs, JK services, an UngeVærk and an UnderVærk as well as an outreach team. The leisure center covers an area around Valby and Vesterbro and primarily receives children and youths from nearby schools and the local area.

Fritidscenter Indre Valby is part of the leisure cluster VVK, which covers the municipal 10-18 year old leisure services in Valby. The cluster consists of two leisure centers: FC Indre Valby and FC Ydre Valby.

The Outreach Team in VVK helps bridge youths who are on the streets or at other hotspots into our clubs. They offer guidance and counseling on street level, for example by helping local youths with job search, educational guidance and similar. They screen areas where youths are present, and assist with conflict resolution in the schoolyard, just as they participate in relevant activities with youths in our UngeVærker. The work tasks are flexible and take their starting point in current challenges and activities on the street level, in the local public schools or clubs.

The Outreach Team consists of a total of six employees who work across Inner and Outer Valby. This position has its base in Inner Valby, where the primary work will take place in collaboration with colleagues in the leisure and junior clubs and in our Unge- and UnderVærk.

The Outreach Team generally works on weekdays, but there may be activities, events and staff days that take place on weekends.

We offer

  • a job where you have the opportunity to plan much of your working time and plan your tasks in collaboration with your colleagues
  • a varied and flexible job where the days are rarely the same
  • a large amount of autonomy and a lot of trust, but also an expectation from colleagues and management that you take responsibility, keep agreements, and complete tasks
  • a high professional level and engaged colleagues who always strive to develop through sparring with each other and management. This is supported by courses, theme days and education
  • to become part of a unique leisure center where no ideas are shot down, but where you will experience support for new projects, both collegial, managerial and financial

We are looking for a new colleague who

  • wants and has the courage to work both without fixed premises and have fixed hours in our UngeVærk
  • is approachable and able to engage in dialogue with youths on the street, in the library, in the schoolyard, in the club or other places where they stay
  • can join the team in UngeVærket and participate in activities ongoing in our leisure and junior clubs
  • has strong skills in conflict resolution and can create calm and security around them
  • can initiate, implement and evaluate programs and projects with youths in groups
  • has experience working with youths aged 13-18. It is an advantage if you have experience with street-level work, but this is not a requirement as long as you are willing to meet the youths on their home turf. Perhaps you are a trained pedagogue, or perhaps you have another professional background you can apply
  • is a team player who can also work independently and is loyal to agreements and completes their tasks
  • can work two evenings per week until 22.00 from Monday to Friday and is flexible regarding working hours
  • has reasonable competence in using computers and other digital media, as we work in Outlook, Sharepoint and Aula (you will receive an introduction to it all)

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Before employment, references as well as child and criminal background checks will be obtained. Please note that we obtain the extended criminal record which goes 10 years back.

The position is a fixed term up to 30 hours. We wish to fill the position as soon as possible or by 1 January 2027 at the latest.
