About the job

Employment Consultant with competencies and a desire to work in a citizen-inclusive and holistic manner.

We are currently in the midst of an exciting transformation process, where the employment reform sets the direction for new solutions and provides greater freedom. A liberation that we will use to adapt the process to the individual citizen in a more flexible and reality-based effort. Our ambition is a labor market with room for all – created in close collaboration between citizens, businesses and Herning Municipality. Who are we looking for:

We need an employment consultant for the cash-benefit group with professional breadth to professionally handle a coherent and business-oriented effort – with a professional foundation as social worker/social facilitator.

The target group is social assistance recipients aged over 25.

As our future colleague you should have the competencies and willingness to engage in the change process, and be able to see yourself in a position where job consultant, advisor and mentor tasks are combined in one role. Who are we:

Job and Social Efforts is part of JobHerning. We are a large workplace with many professional disciplines, competencies and areas of work.

In JobHerning, citizen involvement plays a central role. We work purposefully to develop employment initiatives in collaboration with a number of other municipalities and researchers from Aalborg University at the Center for the Development of Citizen-Inclusive Employment Initiatives. Through dialogue, co-creation and individual programs, the citizen's ownership and motivation are strengthened. The goal is to create more effective and meaningful paths to lasting employment.

Our work culture is largely characterized by collaboration, curiosity, dynamism, equality, readiness to adapt, and high professional ambitions. We place importance on these reflected in practical work, collegial collaboration, and in communication with citizens and external partners.

We value a holistic approach, where relevant partners continually participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration. We are looking for a colleague who is:

  • Educated social worker or social mediator
  • Professionally well-founded in the social welfare area, or on the way there and interested in learning it
  • Believes in citizens' capabilities and their willingness to find their place in the labor market and is able to help citizens see their own resources
  • Inclusive and able to show respect in dealings with citizens
  • Able to work in a structured way, keep an overview and ensure systematic coherence in cases
  • Believes that reality works and that paid hours from the start are motivating
  • Interested in professional reflection, development and testing of new methods and interventions

The tasks will broadly include

  • Handling the authorities’ tasks related to the citizen’s path to employment, including producing written material for use in case processing
  • Coordinating, referring and collaborating with relevant partners
  • Being proactive in the business-oriented work and creating strong relationships with local businesses
  • Carrying out mentoring tasks for the citizens you have on your case file

We offer

  • A 37-hour-per-week position
  • A workplace with a high level of engagement
  • Great independence in the work with plenty of professional guidance and peer support
  • An informal tone in daily collaboration
  • Flexible working conditions with freedom in structuring work
  • An introduction plan with a “mentoring scheme” so you get a good start

Start date

As soon as possible. Salary and employment are performed according to the applicable collective agreement, and the pay is set after negotiation.

We look forward to receiving your application and relevant documentation. We only accept applications submitted electronically via Herning Municipality's website www.herning.dk. Application deadline
