About the job

Employment Counselor for people on sick leave in Mariagerfjord

Would you like to help create the path back to the labor market for people who have been on sick leave?

Do you have an eye for both the person, the labor market and the possibilities to bring those on sick leave closer to work? Do you thrive in the authority role, professional assessments and collaboration with citizens, businesses and colleagues?

Then we may have the job for you.

We are looking for an employment counselor for a permanent position in the Sickness Benefit Department at Jobcenter Mariagerfjord. Here you will become part of a professional community where we work purposefully to retain people on sick leave in the labor market or help them back into work.

We believe that the best solutions are created in collaboration with the citizen and the workplace – with professionalism, clear direction and a focus on possibilities.

Your daily life with us

You will be responsible for your own cases and for creating progress in citizens' journeys.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • Hold job-oriented conversations with a focus on resources, opportunities and returning to the labor market.
  • Prepare concrete plans in collaboration with the citizen and the employer.
  • Support retention and gradual return to work, including through company internships.
  • Advise on compensatory schemes and other available support.
  • Collaborate with companies and relevant partners.
  • Carry out professional assessments, make decisions and ensure systematic follow-up and documentation.

You must be able to navigate complex processes and stay the course, even when there are many considerations to balance.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant education, e.g., social worker or social facilitator.
  • Preferably have experience with the employment and sick pay area.
  • Are familiar with the authoritative role and can translate legislation into concrete solutions.
  • Work independently, in a structured way and take responsibility for your own tasks.
  • Are good at building relationships and collaborating with both citizens, companies and colleagues.
  • Have an eye for opportunities and a desire to challenge established workflows.
  • Are curious about professional development and actively use colleagues for sparring and learning.

You do not need to know it all from day one. The most important is that you are willing to take responsibility, develop your professionalism and contribute to the community .

What you get with us

You will be part of a team with different professional backgrounds and experiences, where we work to create good and coherent citizen journeys.

We offer

  • A strong professional community with collegial sparring, knowledge sharing and joint learning.
  • Independence and responsibility for your own cases and the opportunity to plan your workday within shared frameworks.
  • Clear direction and expectations, so we know what we need to succeed.
  • Influence and development where your experiences and ideas are put to use.
  • Digital tools in daily life: We work in the professional system Schultz Fasit and use AI tools such as Summa, Lexi and dialogue support to support documentation, professionalism and dialogue with citizens.
  • Good colleagues and a good working environment where we help each other and have room for both professional discussions and a good laugh.

We emphasize that we succeed together – both with citizens' journeys and with our own professional development.

Salary and employment conditions

This is a permanent position of 37 hours per week with start 01-01-2027.

Your primary place of work is Jobcenter Mariagerfjord, Town Hall, Korsgade 2, 9500 Hobro.

It is a requirement that you have a driving license (category B) and your own car available for work. Travel is reimbursed according to applicable rules.

Salary and employment terms are according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local pay formation.
