Apply for the position

Do you want to work with bridge and infrastructure maintenance, life extension and quality assurance of the infrastructure people use every day?

Right now we are looking for a skilled junior/mid-level engineer with about 3-4 years of experience who would like to become part of our operations and maintenance team in Copenhagen.

In the Sweco Bridge and Tunnel department we work with the service life of structures – from design and construction to operation, maintenance and renovation. In the Operations & Maintenance team we work specifically with bridge and infrastructure structures, where we among other things solve tasks. We work with civil works for both private and public clients.

We work in an environment characterized by high change, where we combine project needs with employees' ambitions – and we expect a high level of ambition. You will have a mandate to take initiative and drive tasks forward, and we do not expect you to know everything from the start, but that you are curious, proactive and translate insight into action.

At the same time we value each other and collaboration in everyday life. For us, high ambitions and good well-being go hand in hand: when tasks are fast-paced and complex, we succeed best when we have a daily culture of integrity, mutual help and a strong team spirit.

About the position

As an engineer in Operations & Maintenance you will be part of projects within inspection, maintenance and renovation of bridge and infrastructure constructions in concrete and steel. You will follow the structures from the initial registration and condition assessment to design, procurement and execution.

You will among other things plan and conduct inspections and surveys, document the condition of structures and contribute to the assessment of relevant maintenance and renovation measures. You will also contribute to the preparation of tender materials and technical documentation and follow the solutions through the execution phase via technical supervision and construction management.

The tasks are performed in close collaboration with experienced colleagues, clients, contractors and other disciplines. As you gain experience, you will take on greater independent responsibility for your own tasks and deliverables.

Your primary tasks will be

  • Plan and conduct inspections, general inspections and special inspections of bridge and infrastructure constructions
  • Record, assess and report damages, observations and the condition of the structures
  • Contribute to condition assessments and recommendations for the further operation and maintenance
  • Project maintenance, repair and renovation measures, including developing renovation designs
  • Prepare technical documentation and contribute to specifications, quantities and other tender materials
  • Perform professional supervision and contribute to construction management and follow-up in the execution phase
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors and colleagues to ensure progress and quality in the projects
  • Contribute to quality assurance of the solutions so that they are robust, feasible and support the structures' long-term service life

About you

You thrive in a daily life where you are both in the office and out on assignments, and you want to take responsibility and make things happen. You work in a structured way, are professionally curious and take initiative when there is something that needs to be driven forward.

We imagine that you

  • Are a graduate engineer
  • Have about 3-4 years of experience from a consulting firm, contractor or client side
  • Have experience with bridge and civil structures maintenance, supervision, inspections and/or fieldwork
  • Work independently and take ownership of your tasks, while actively using the team and contributing to common solutions
  • Are keen to learn new things – and at the same time eager to help your colleagues in their ongoing development through daily sparring
