About the job

Are you passionate about food – and about making a difference? Teacher for the food education programs in Aars and Hobro | 30 hours per week

Can you make young people discover how much can be achieved with good ingredients, curiosity and the courage to try something new? And would you like to give them a strong start to their education?

Then we may have the job for you.

At HEG we are looking for a teacher for our food education programs. You will especially have an important role in Foundation Course 1 (GF1), where young people explore the subjects, discover their strengths and take the first steps toward their future.

You will be the one who makes theory come alive In GF1 it’s about much more than recipes and techniques. Students must test themselves in the world of food, experience success in the kitchen and become clearer about which path they want to take. Here your professionalism and your ability to build relationships make a difference.

You will, among other things, be responsible for

  • Make the teaching lively, practical and relevant – from raw materials and preparation to hygiene, sustainability and food waste.
  • Give students tastings of the possibilities within gastronomy, nutrition, bakery and confectionery trades and the gourmet butchery trade.
  • Create a safe team environment where there is room for diversity, questions and mistakes, from which you learn.
  • Help students find motivation, academic self-confidence and direction toward their further education.
  • Develop teaching courses together with colleagues and participate in bridging programs and activities for future students.

There can also be teaching in other foundation courses and continuing education activities.

We work across Aars and Hobro, and some events take place outside the ordinary teaching hours.

Who are you? Maybe you are a nutrition assistant, gastronome or have another relevant background within food and food production.

Maybe you have taught before – maybe you have not. Both can work for us.

We hope that you

  • Have solid food knowledge and keep up with what’s happening in the industry.
  • Can meet young people at eye level and at the same time set clear boundaries.
  • Are curious, full of ideas and want to share your enthusiasm for the subject.
  • Thrive with collaboration, structure and a daily life where plans sometimes change.
  • Can see yourself in our values: clear communication, integrity, structure and collaboration.
  • Would complete an vocational pedagogical diploma if you do not already have it.

A small team with big ambitions You will become part of a team of 7 teachers with different professional backgrounds. We help each other, share ideas and believe that good teaching becomes even better when we develop it together. There is room for both professional sparring, humor and new initiatives.

You get freedom with responsibility, the possibility to shape the teaching, access to continuing education and a collegial community – also through HEG’s social events.

HEG has approx. 270 employees across vocational and gymnasium educations.

The practical Workplace: Aars and Hobro.

Working hours: 30 hours per week.

Start: 1.1.2027.
