Become an outreach street-level worker in Social Psychiatry

Do you want to help create contact, hope and new opportunities for people with severe mental illnesses and complex social challenges?

As part of the national 10-year plan for psychiatry, Slagelse Municipality is establishing a new outreach street-level initiative in social psychiatry.

Therefore we are seeking an experienced and relationship-oriented employee for a 30-hour project position. An annual grant is expected through 2029 with potential for eventual integration.

The position is organizationally located in the Unit for Substance Use and Social Psychiatry (RoS) and linked to the Social Emergency Service at Århusvej. There is a possibility to supplement the position with 7 hours per week in the Social Emergency Service, thereby achieving full-time.

About the job

You will outreach to citizens who have limited or no contact with relevant treatment and support offers. Your main tools are relationships, perseverance and the ability to meet people with respect and curiosity.

Your tasks will include

• outreach to citizens in their local environment
• build and maintain trusting relationships
• identify citizens’ needs and wishes
• motivate and accompany citizens to relevant offers
• build bridges to social psychiatry, treatment psychiatry, the health care system and substance treatment
• coordinate efforts and collaborate with relevant actors around the citizen.

You will become part of a strong multidisciplinary collaboration around some of the municipality's most vulnerable citizens. In particular you will work closely with Toften’s §99 initiative, where through joint meetings and professional sparring you ensure coordination and coherence in the outreach effort.

In addition you will collaborate with the Social Emergency Service, social psychiatry, treatment psychiatry, the substance area, civil society actors and other relevant services and initiatives for citizens in social vulnerability.

We are looking for someone who

• has a relevant social science education
• has experience with social psychiatry and citizens in vulnerability
• works independently and in an outreach-focused way
• is strong in relationship-building and cross-disciplinary collaboration
• can navigate complex citizen trajectories
• is willing to help develop a new initiative.
