Experienced team leader with personnel responsibility for system management and support of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency's fisheries systems

Would you lead a professionally strong team that binds business and IT together and ensures that our fisheries systems and subsidy administration system function in daily operations? And are you motivated by personnel leadership, while also able to create structure and direction in an area where existing systems must be kept stable while new solutions are developed and put into use?

About the position

You will become the leader of the team that is closest to the daily use and management of our fisheries systems and subsidy schemes. The team works with system ownership, support, system setup and ongoing system management. As team leader you will have the daily professional and personnel responsibility for a dedicated and cross-disciplinary team, currently consisting of 7 colleagues, but where 4 additional colleagues will be hired over the next six months.

You will have responsibility for a team of supporters and system-savvy individuals who have extensive knowledge of their solutions, who have worked with operational processes and with a shift from system- to service-oriented task solving.

As team leader your main tasks are to

• Set direction for the team and create clear frameworks, priorities and responsibilities.
• Manage personnel leadership and support both the individual employee's and the team's professional development.
• Ensure a professional and stable administration of the fisheries systems with a focus on operation, support, incidents, risks and follow-up.
• Ensure the setup of our subsidy schemes.
• Further develop the team's work with system ownership.
• Create a strong collaboration between the team, the business, other teams in the office and our suppliers who are insourced.
• Lead the team through the transition from existing to modernized fisheries systems, while maintaining daily operation and user support.

We are modernizing our system landscape in the fisheries area and there will be a substantial task to contribute to the transition from old to new applications, while maintaining stable operations. Here, an important part of your role will be to develop the team's system ownership and ensure close collaboration with the business. Our fisheries systems are used by both staff and the industry, around the clock, year-round.

Digitalisation Office

The Digitalisation Office consists of just under 48 employees. The office is led by 1 head of office and 5 team leaders, of whom you will be one. In addition to internal staff, there are about 28 external consultants attached to the office. The office is responsible for a number of professional applications, subsidy systems, data platform, projects, IT delivery model and a number of supporting functions, such as finance, contract management etc. Furthermore, we are in the process of starting to use AI as part of the development and maintenance of the systems.

Our expectations of you

You take a proactive approach to work and will want to see your tasks through to completion. You care about personnel leadership combined with an IT technical foundation as well as experience in developing teams and see a well-functioning team as the key to success of the tasks. We especially emphasize that you:

• Have experience with IT technical foundation and are motivated to develop both employees and teams.
• Can create structure, prioritization and direction in a daily life with both planned deliveries and urgent operational needs.
• Have experience with IT systems, system management, support or similar and have sufficient technical understanding to lead specialists.
• Are strong in collaboration between business and IT and can bridge different disciplines and interests.
• Can maintain an overview and make decisions when the situation requires it.

It is an advantage if you have experience from a politically led organization, with ITIL or with agile ways of working, but we do not necessarily expect you to check all the boxes.

You have a relevant higher education degree, or through your experience have gained equivalent competencies. Your concrete educational background is less important than your experience with personnel leadership and with leading tasks at the intersection of business and IT.

You will receive real leadership room together with the team to develop the way we work with system management, support and system ownership. We are in the process of developing our organization and collaboration forms, and you will therefore not only be responsible for daily operations but also have the opportunity to influence the team's development and collaboration with the rest of the organization.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are according to the current Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of Akademiker organizations for academics in the state (Academic Collective Agreement).

Employment is permanent as chief consultant with personnel leadership with base salary according to the agreement and any allowances.
