About the job

Do you want to help strengthen children and young people's opportunities to participate in meaningful activities and master everyday challenges? And would you like to become part of a strong professional community with good opportunities for sparring, development and specialization? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for.

We are seeking an occupational therapist for a permanent position of 35-37 hours per week in Den Ambulante Børneterapi (DAB) at Børnecenter København.

About the job

In Den Ambulante Børneterapi we work with assessment, guidance, counseling and targeted training programs for children and young people aged 0-18 years with various functional challenges.

Our interventions are generally time-limited and based on the activities that matter for the child and family in everyday life. We work to support the child's development, independence and participation in meaningful activities.

As an occupational therapist you can, among other things, work with children who have challenges with

  • daily activities such as dressing, eating and personal independence
  • fine motor skills and hand function, e.g., in drawing, writing and use of tools
  • oral motor functions and skills related to eating and drinking
  • sensory processing and regulation, which can affect the child's participation in daily life
  • play, activity and participation in social communities

We base our work on the child's and family's goals and use play and meaningful everyday activities as central tools in the occupational therapy intervention.

An important part of the work is to involve and guide the parents, so that the strategies and activities we work with can be transferred to the child's everyday life. We also collaborate with pedagogues, teachers and other professionals around the child when relevant.

You will have the opportunity to independently plan, implement and evaluate your programs, while having close access to professional sparring with your colleagues.

A strong professional community

As an occupational therapist in Den Ambulante Børneterapi you become part of a professional environment with both occupational and physical therapists. At the same time you join Børnecenter Københavns overall therapist group of around 55 therapists.

We highly value professional sparring, knowledge sharing and development and meet regularly across our different areas of work.

We work purposefully to develop the quality of our therapeutic interventions. Among other things, we have developed our own flowchart for goal setting, where the child's perspective, meaningful goals and systematic evaluation are central elements. We also continuously work to strengthen an evidence-based practice.

With us you will have the opportunity to deepen your pediatric occupational therapy expertise, develop your competencies and contribute to the shared professional development.

We are looking for you who

  • are a licensed occupational therapist and have a strong interest in working with children and young people with special needs
  • have experience with the child field or a desire to develop your competencies within pediatric occupational therapy
  • have knowledge of or interest in relevant occupational therapy assessment and evaluation tools
  • can work independently and structure, plan and evaluate your own programs
  • want to work closely with children and families and can translate your professional knowledge into concrete and usable guidance
  • thrive on professional sparring and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • are curious, flexible and want to share knowledge and develop your professional skills together with colleagues

You do not need to have experience with all target groups or areas of action. The most important is that you want to work with children and families and bring your occupational therapy expertise into play.

We offer

We offer

  • a strong and engaged working community with skilled occupational and physiotherapy colleagues
  • a professional environment with opportunities for sparring, specialization and competence development
  • a trust-based workplace with great influence, involvement and shared responsibility
  • a varied workday with independent programs and close collaboration with children, families and professionals
  • focus on professional development, knowledge sharing and ongoing reflection on our practice
  • an introductory program during the first 14 days, where you visit other workplaces and shadow experienced colleagues
  • a mentor scheme where you are linked to an occupational therapy colleague who helps you get started

Employment terms

Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement. The position is permanent with a weekly working time of 35-37 hours. Start date by agreement.

We work with zero-time hours (nultid), which means that for example with a 37-hour appointment you work 39.5 hours per week and accordingly accrue extra days off.

In connection with the employment we obtain child and criminal records certificates and references.

We look forward to reading your application.
