Experienced night guard for the Crisis Center Garvergården in Copenhagen

Krisecentret Garvergården is a combined crisis center and shelter under the Danish Social Services Act, §§ 109 and 110. The target group is citizens and their potentially accompanying children.

About us

Krisecentret Garvergården is located on Vesterbro and functions both as a crisis center under § 109 and as a shelter under § 110. We have a total of 27 apartments.

Our target groups are citizens who have experienced violence in close relationships and citizens with particular social problems who do not have or cannot stay in their own housing.

Both target groups may find themselves in complex and stuck life situations where they cannot immediately solve their challenges on their own. At the same time, they can often make daily life work with light to moderate support.

Your tasks

As part of the team at Krisecentret Garvergården, you play an important role in ensuring calm, safety, and continuity for the residents through the night. You are alone on duty and responsible for keeping the house running until the contact persons come in the next morning.

The tasks vary between practical chores, e.g., tidying up and emptying dishwashers, and conversations with residents who urgently need support or someone to talk to about their situation.

You start at 21:30 and receive the handover from the evening shift. Thereafter you help close down the house, do rounds, and ensure the house is tidy and ready for the next day.

The position is a partially sleeping night shift, where you sleep from 23:30-07:30, but can be woken if a resident needs support. From 07:30 you take care of the final tasks and prepare the house for the day. When the contact persons arrive at 08:00, you hand over relevant information before your shift ends at 08:30.

We are looking for you who

• have experience as a night guard from a combined crisis center (§ 109) and shelter (§ 110)
• have experience working with vulnerable people, including experience with substance abuse and psychiatry, and are good at conflict management
• are comfortable working alone in a large house
• can plan your work and make decisions when required
• have experience documenting your work
• are empathetic, caring, and motivating in contact with residents
• have a flexible, curious approach to new tasks and the issues that arise
• bring a positive spirit to work and contribute to the good atmosphere in the house

Salary and employment terms

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local wage formation.

The working hours are from 21:30-08:30 and you work on a rotating schedule every 2 weeks from Friday to Friday. The night shift participates annually in four staff meetings and selected theme days.

We expect to start on 1 March 2027.
