About the job

Naturstyrelsen owns about 1,900 buildings that are used for a wide range of purposes. Do you have knowledge of leading, planning and completing smaller renovations and construction tasks? Could you imagine working with many different tasks, and do you want to have a high degree of independent responsibility? Do you perhaps have experience from sewerage/drainage projects? Then we would like to hear from you.

Naturstyrelsen's buildings are located all over the country and are very diverse in terms of use, size and condition – roughly from a chicken coop to a castle – but mainly small to medium-sized dwellings, offices, machine houses etc. The Building Team's overarching task is to ensure an appropriate and up-to-date building stock, so that it at the same time supports efficient operation and meets local needs. This is achieved among other things through divestment, demolition, renovation and ongoing review of the buildings.

The team’s main tasks include client-side tasks, including planning, implementation and winding up of renovations and construction projects, project-oriented building case processing with time and financial responsibility as well as preparation of tender materials and contracts. In addition there will be coordination of operation and maintenance tasks – including building inspections in collaboration with colleagues around the country.

Tasks and organization

In the Building Team we are looking for a new colleague who will work with the team’s general tasks, as well as as the client’s adviser participate to ensure the agency's allotment gardens are sewered.

You will join a team of 6 at our headquarters in Randbøl near Vejle.

Your core tasks will be

  • Internal advice on maintenance of the agency's buildings
  • Major but especially smaller construction tasks (tendering, management and coordination)
  • Sparring with various stakeholders – e.g. the agency's local units, contractors, consultants, etc. to find good solutions within given financial limits
  • Participation in the sewerage task – including tendering and project management in relation to the adviser
  • Participation in the team’s other internal multidisciplinary tasks – e.g. demolition, energy-saving plans, sustainability, joint tendering and management service related thereto

There will be a fairly heavy amount of writing in your daily life with e.g. tender documents, note taking, participation in executive presentations and other documentation as well as subsequent journaling.

Organisationally, the Building Team is placed in Finance, where you will have about 35 colleagues. The Building Team is led by a team leader.

Your profile

As our new building employee you have a relevant advanced education such as building constructor, engineer or other relevant experience.

We also place emphasis on broad experience with operation and maintenance of a larger building portfolio as well as experience with preparation of tender materials, obtaining offers and task management. Possibly supplemented with experience and competences in project management, procurement and supervision regarding construction tasks within sewerage.

Experience with and knowledge of public administration is an advantage, and if your education is supplemented with a craft background, that is an additional plus. If you are relatively recently graduated with only a few years of experience, we would very much like to hear from you as well.

We expect that you as a person

  • Are able to work independently and can be proactive, flexible and imaginative, as you will need to align finances, requirements and building conditions into a higher unity
  • Take initiative and at the same time follow up tasks to completion
  • Have good negotiation skills, as you will be met with input from several different sides
  • Are solution-oriented and can find the compromise where there are different interests
  • Have a well-developed organizational understanding and judgement
  • Are a good communicator who can express yourself clearly both in writing and speech
  • Can use IT tools, including Microsoft Office, and possibly also Autocad/Revit as a means of streamlining, standardizing and/or automating processes related to building administration

We offer

You will have a large amount of independent responsibility for a wide range of tasks. Through broad contact with managers and staff in the agency you will have the opportunity to work with many different tasks within the building area.

You will have good opportunities for personal and professional development in an exciting working environment with a free, informal and very humorous tone. We have a good canteen at the address.
