In Protection & Power we work with some of the country’s most complex and societally critical infrastructure projects. Right now we are seeking an experienced and development-oriented specialist with solid professional background in protection or power, who wants to lead our professional development and help shape the future task portfolio – with a particular focus on the growing opportunities within the power area.

Become a professional key person and help set the direction

You will become a key player in ensuring quality and direction in our projects. You will be responsible for translating large budgets into technically buildable solutions in close collaboration with some of the industry’s most skilled specialists. It is complex, but that is also what makes it exciting.

As head of discipline you will play a central role in developing and lifting the professional level across the department. You will be an important driver in the work of developing our methods, processes and technical solutions, and you will also have the opportunity to shape how we work with design and project execution in the future.

A professional area in development

Protection & Power faces an exciting development in the coming years. As the rollout of new signaling systems progresses, tasks within the traditional protection systems are expected to gradually change character and in the long term be smaller in scale. At the same time we see a significant development potential within the power area, where electrification, modernization and new technical solutions are expected to gain an increasingly important role.

As head of discipline you therefore play an important role in supporting this development, where we both must safeguard and further develop our existing professional competencies and at the same time strengthen our capacity and professionalism within the power area.

You will help set the direction for how we adapt our competences, methods and organization to future tasks, with a particular focus on the opportunities and needs that arise within the power area.

You will work closely with the department head, section chief and team leaders to maintain a high professional standard, support employee development and promote technological development. The role combines solid technical expertise with professional leadership, strategic development and close collaboration with the projects.

Among other things you will

• set the direction for the professional field and help ensure high quality and consistency in the solutions.
• develop the professional environment through sparring and close cross-disciplinary collaboration
• translate experience into improvements by collecting learnings from projects and using them to develop our standards, methods and work processes
• challenge and support own-design and design-lead teams, so we constantly improve in planning and executing projects
• contribute to the continued development of Banedanmark's model for own-design.

You therefore get a role with both professional depth and strategic perspective. You must be able to move between concrete technical issues in the projects and the longer-term work of developing the professional area, the organization and the way we work.

Your efforts will contribute to a better methodological basis, more robust projects, higher quality and a more efficient solution to Banedanmark's tasks.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have +8 years of experience as a design engineer. You may also have another technical background from which you have built up solid specialist knowledge in protection or power.

You have experience with both design, planning and execution of protection or power projects and also a good knowledge of the industry’s technologies, trends and development. You are able to analyze complex problems through a structured and solution-oriented approach. In addition, you have an understanding of risks and prerequisites across projects and can translate technical insight into concrete actions.

Your upcoming workplace depends on your residence. We have offices in Copenhagen, Fredericia, so we are flexible regarding where you prefer to work. Since the department is spread across locations, some travel across the country is expected. Both locations have easy access to parking for car and bike and are within a short walking distance from the train station.

Banedanmark is also a modern workplace with good conditions for a balanced work life. There is the possibility of flexible working hours and the possibility of home office when the tasks allow it.

Salary and employment terms

If you are an academic, you are employed under the prevailing agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state.

You are placed on the basis of academic seniority and experience as a senior consultant or chief consultant according to the applicable agreement, which you find here and the Employee- and Competence Authority’s salary overview, which you find here.

Depending on your qualifications and competences there is a possibility for negotiation of allowance. There will be attached an employer-financed pension scheme of 18.07%.

Otherwise you are employed according to the current Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Civil Service Area (OAO-S Joint Agreement) and the organizational agreement for clerical workers, laboratory technicians and IT staff.

Depending on your qualifications and competences there is possibility for negotiation of allowance. For the total salary there will be linked an employer-financed pension scheme of 16%.
