About us

We are 13 public health nurses, one public health nurse in a combined administrative position and a manager. Frederikssund Municipality is a geographically large municipality with both countryside and town, close to forest and water.

The annual birth rate has risen to around 400 children. We have many and diverse schools – large and small, municipal, special, free and private schools. We generally have a good and constructive collaboration with schools and day care centers in the municipality.

We have a close multidisciplinary collaboration with the Center for Family and Counseling, including the possibility to offer joint home visits with a prevention consultant as needed. In addition, we work closely on our vulnerable families, who are linked to family treatment in the family house.

We are committed to professional development and participate continuously in relevant projects – currently "Together without Violence" in collaboration with the Mary Foundation and the Ole Kirks Foundation and "Sweet Balance" in collaboration with the Danish Food Authority.

In Frederikssund Municipality we have a child health policy that guides development and innovation and helps ensure qualified and evidence-based public health nursing for children and families.
