About the job

Family Therapist / Social Educator with relevant further training for Children, Youth and Family Center Skive

Are you passionate about making a difference for children, youths and families in vulnerable positions? Do you have a social-pedagogical or social work background, relevant treatment-related continuing education, and experience with family treatment? Then you might be our new colleague at Children, Youth and Family Center Skive (BUF).

BUF is the outpatient execution area of the Family Department and offers advice and treatment to children, youths and their families. We encompass a wide range of offerings from the first interventions around pregnancy and infants to family therapy and youth support.

We are a multidisciplinary workplace with about 45 dedicated employees with various professional backgrounds, who every day collaborate to create positive and lasting changes in the lives of children, youths and families.

With us, professional standards are high, the collaboration informal, and humor important. We help each other across teams and disciplines and see close cooperation – both internally and with authorities, schools, day care, health services, voluntary organizations and civil society – as a prerequisite for success.

About the job

The target group for our interventions is children and youths in vulnerable positions and their families. The children, youths and families we work with may be emotionally and socially challenged to an extent that affects their development, learning and well-being.

As a family therapist you work with the whole family and with creating development and positive changes in the family’s interaction. You must be able to work purposefully with parenting while ensuring relevant involvement of the child or the young person.

The tasks range widely and include treatment programs, exploratory tasks and longer-term supportive interventions. The interventions are planned based on the individual family’s needs and in close cooperation with the family and other professionals around the child or youth.

You will, among other things, work with

  • providing a holistic and targeted intervention for the child, the youth and the family
  • planning treatment programs based on the family’s resources, needs and goals
  • applying relevant treatment approaches and methods adapted to the child, the youth and the family
  • actively and meaningfully involving the child or the youth in the intervention
  • supporting parents in creating positive and sustainable changes in the family
  • adjusting the intensity and duration of the intervention continuously
  • working closely with authorities and other professionals around the family
  • involving the family’s private network and civil society when relevant.

About you

We are looking for a colleague who is strong in their own profession and who also sees multidisciplinary collaboration as an essential part of solving the tasks.

We imagine that you

  • are educated as a social educator and have relevant treatment-related continuing education
  • have experience with family treatment and working with children, youths and families in vulnerable positions
  • work with an appreciative, resource-oriented approach and a view of the family’s overall situation
  • can create strong and trusting relationships while maintaining direction and goals in treatment work
  • can translate your professional skills flexibly in meeting different children, youths and families
  • thrive in close multidisciplinary collaboration and actively contribute to the joint task solution
  • are curious about your own and others’ practice and contribute to professional reflection, feedback and learning
  • have relevant experience with and/or continuing education in treatment approaches and methods. This could include mentalization-based, cognitive or neuroaffective approaches, play therapy, infant therapy, ART, PMTO, DUÅ Home Coaching or similar
  • can arrange your working hours flexibly when the task requires it
  • have a driving license and the possibility to provide your own car if needed. BUF has its own cars, which are used as a first option.

Why you should choose us

At BUF you will be part of a workplace with high professional standards, great breadth of expertise and an important shared task.

We offer

  • a professionally strong and multidisciplinary environment
  • exciting and varied tasks with the opportunity to make a concrete difference for children, youths and families
  • close professional sparring with dedicated colleagues
  • internal and external supervision
  • opportunity for professional development and relevant continuing education
  • focus on data-supported practice and ongoing development of our interventions
  • a workplace focused on psychological safety, well-being, job satisfaction and a good working environment
  • flexibility and freedom with responsibility
  • a culture where relationships, collaboration and humor are a natural part of everyday life.
