About the job

Do you have a flair for financial management, budget monitoring and interest in payroll management and people economics? And do you want to help support financial management in one of the country's largest public service organizations? Then become part of the Center for Financial Management in the City of Copenhagen's Finance Administration.

About the position

As a financial partner your primary task is to support the internal payroll management and budget follow-up in the centers in Corporate Services, which delivers administrative services to the City of Copenhagen's seven administrations. You will, together with good colleagues, play a central role in the work with payroll management, budget-follow-ups and forecasts. You contribute to creating an overview of the centers' people economics and a solid basis for the management's financial decisions.

This is an exciting and responsible job with close contact to managers and colleagues in Corporate Services, where you will become an important financial sparring partner.

Your tasks

The position entails that you

  • serve as a financial partner and handle payroll for one or more of Corporate Services' centers
  • analyze the development in salary expenditure and identify financial risks and opportunities for action
  • handle budgeting and budget-follow-up tasks
  • translate financial data into clear and usable management information
  • provide financial advice and sparring to the centers' management
  • contribute to the development and improvement of processes and tools for payroll management
  • participate in the team's other financial management tasks

The concrete tasks will be composed taking into account your experience and competencies, and the task composition may therefore change as a result of this.

About you

We expect that you have

  • a relevant education in economics or social sciences
  • experience with or interest in financial management and payroll and personnel economics
  • strong analytical skills and good system understanding, preferably Excel and Power BI
  • the ability to convey complex financial issues clearly and understandably
  • a structured and independent approach to tasks
  • willingness to collaborate and to find solutions in a joint effort

It is an advantage if you have a couple of years of experience with financial management, preferably from a public organization, but this is not a requirement. The most important thing is that you have a solid financial professional foundation and a willingness to learn.

Who are we?

You will become part of the Center for Financial Management, which has the responsibility for internal financial support of the corporate units and the City Hall in the Finance Administration in the City of Copenhagen. The center is divided into three offices and five teams with a total of about 45 employees. You will join Team Corporate Services Finance, where we work closely with the centers and managers whom we support.

We have a high professional ambition and at the same time emphasize a good collegial community, where there is also room for humor. The team is part of the office, which has responsibility for financial management for both Corporate Services, Corporate IT and the Finance Administration's City Hall part.

Employment terms

Employment is expected to be as an administrative trainee. Salary and employment terms are set according to qualifications and applicable collective agreement. The working hours are 37 hours per week including a half-hour lunch break. We offer a flexitime arrangement and the possibility of remote work. Your workplace will be at Borups Allé 177, 2400 Copenhagen NV. The position is desired to be filled on 1 January 2027.
