About the job

Would you like to make a tangible difference in Fredericia's residential areas and create stronger pathways to education, jobs, well-being and community?

In 2027, the new City-wide Collective Housing Social Plan Fredericia 2027-2030 will start. The plan covers 46 municipal housing sections with approximately 9,500 residents and 5,700 households and will be implemented in close collaboration between Boligkontoret Fredericia, Boli.nu and Fredericia Municipality.

For the Area Secretariat, we are seeking four housing-social employees who will work closely with residents and help translate the plan's ambitions into concrete everyday changes.

We are seeking different profiles who, with their professional backgrounds, experiences and competencies, can complement each other in a strong team.

What should we succeed in?

The plan has four overarching focus areas

  • Education and life chances
  • Employment
  • Crime prevention
  • Social cohesion and citizenship

Across areas, we shall work to ensure that more children and young people perform well in school and complete an education, that more residents move closer to the labor market, that crime is prevented and safety is increased, and that more people become an active part of the community and society.

We shall build bridges between residents, the municipality, housing organizations, civil society, businesses and other partners so that the resources around the housing areas benefit the residents. The aim is to strengthen both individual opportunities and the cohesion in the local areas.

Your work

As a housing-social employee you will be part of the Area Secretariat and work across the housing areas. A large part of your daily work takes place out in the areas and with the residents. You will be part of a team of four employees who closely collaborate on the overall efforts of the plan and complement each other across areas. At the same time, you must be prepared to take on a special coordinator role within one of the plan's four focus areas. Here you will help create progress, coordinate activities and gather the relevant partners.

You will, among other things, be involved in

  • establishing contact and building trusting relations with residents – including outreach work
  • identifying local needs and translating them into concrete activities
  • planning, coordinating and implementing activities and facilitating groups, networks and communities
  • building a bridge between residents and relevant services as well as mobilizing residents and volunteers
  • collaborating with among others the municipality, housing organizations, educational institutions, companies and associations
  • collecting/registering data and knowledge to document activities and results.

The tasks are varied, and depending on your profile you may work with e.g.

  • Children, youth and families: well-being and learning activities, part-time jobs, parental collaboration and bridging to education and relevant offers.
  • Jobs and employment: practical work communities, job cafes and bridging to companies and the advanced employment efforts.
  • Leisure and crime prevention: leisure activities, outreach street-level work and pathways to positive communities and municipal leisure offers.
  • Community, health and citizenship: neighborhood, resident democracy and activities on, among other things, physical and mental health, everyday economy and digital understanding as well as resident services.

You do not need to be a specialist in all areas. We emphasize that you can see opportunities, build relationships and turn ideas into action.

Who are you?

You may have a social-work, pedagogical or other relevant education. Your specific education is less important than your ability to build trust among citizens in vulnerable positions, collaborate across professions and translate ideas into action.

You meet people at eye level, see their resources and are willing to make the first contact yourself. You can work independently as well as be part of a close team, and you thrive in a varied daily life with many different people and partners.

You can facilitate activities and communities, create cross-disciplinary collaboration and work in a structured way with documentation and follow-up. At the same time, you are curious, creative and open to trying new solutions.

You have experience from housing-social or outreach work, social or employment areas, working with children and youth, health and well-being, volunteering, resident democracy or local community work.

The most important thing is that you care about people and results – and can translate experiences from encounters with residents into concrete actions together with others.

You are offered

You will have the opportunity to be involved from the start in a new four-year housing-social initiative and shape both activities and working methods. There is room to develop and test new approaches based on local needs, knowledge and experiences.

You will become part of a multidisciplinary team with different competencies and gain a broad network across housing organizations, municipality, civil society and other local actors. At the same time, you will be close to the people the effort is about.

The Area Secretariat is currently based in Korskærparken, but your workplace will also be the housing areas and the places where residents and partners are located. The housing-social project manager is responsible for day-to-day leadership.
