About the job

We are expanding our department management in Team 2 for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (TUP 2). We are seeking a leader with a health professional background, e.g. psychologist, senior psychologist, or nurse, who has leadership experience or an interest in leadership. You will, together with the head nurse and the chief physician, be responsible for leading and developing our outpatient treatment offerings for young people aged 14–18 (21) years.

It is a position for you who are motivated by taking on a demanding and meaningful leadership task where you will have real responsibility for creating a clear direction. You will become part of a common leadership space, where the task is carried out in close collaboration, with a focus on translating decisions into practice in everyday life.

Job Description

We are seeking a functional head who, together with our head nurse and chief physician (as advertised), will lead the continued development of a modern and sustainable youth psychiatry, where high professional quality goes hand in hand with timely assessment and treatment. The position will primarily involve on-site presence in Skejby.

You will work closely with the head nurse and the chief physician to undertake the leadership task, which includes personnel responsibility, financial responsibility, and continued focus on ensuring the operation and development of the youth area, as well as planning good patient pathways.

As this is an expansion of the department leadership, there will be an opportunity to influence roles, responsibilities, and task distribution in close dialogue with the rest of the department leadership and the departmental management. This will be based on interests, competences, and professional profile.

We are aware of our population responsibility and aim to offer the necessary and adequate assessment and treatment to our patients and their families in strong collaboration with both internal and external partners.

You will play a central role in translating national ambitions into concrete improvements for patients and staff, and you must be able to lead the implementation of the acute plan to reduce waiting lists and to meet the requirements of UBR. This means you should contribute to optimizing capacity utilization through efficient workflows, high professional quality, and appropriate use of the department's total resources through data-driven leadership.

As a functional head you will be part of BUA's leadership group of 25 leaders, where we have a close and committed collaboration with a focus on how we, as a unified leadership group, can operate and develop BUA for the benefit of staff and patients.

Together with your leadership colleagues you shall, among other things, contribute to

  • maintaining and further developing our work environment so that we continue to recruit and engage skilled and experienced staff
  • reducing waiting times and ensuring that more children and young people gain rapid access to assessment and treatment in line with UBR, while also supporting cohesive patient pathways with a focus on quality, patient safety, and patient-perceived value
  • optimizing capacity utilization through efficient workflows, high professional quality, and appropriate use of the department's total resources
  • further developing collaboration with municipalities, general practice, somatic departments, and other partners so that children, young people, and families experience coordinated and coherent pathways across sectors
  • actively contributing to realizing the intentions of the Health Reform by strengthening integration between psychiatry and somatics and by developing new forms of cooperation across organizational and professional boundaries
  • with a basis in the 10-year plan for psychiatry, you shall be a driving force in the development of future youth psychiatry, where increased capacity, high quality, innovation, research, competence development, and attractive working communities go hand in hand for the benefit of patients, relatives, and staff.

Our expectations of you

  • are ambitious and have experience with or a strong interest in leadership, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • have knowledge of child and adolescent psychiatry or adult psychiatry, but this is not a requirement
  • have good organizational skills and the ability to stay calm in a complex everyday life with many diverse requirements and tasks
  • actively participate in personnel management and undertake the overall leadership task together with your leadership colleagues
  • contribute actively to ensuring a high-quality assessment and treatment offering for young people
  • have the enthusiasm and ability to manage workflows and scheduling in a cross-disciplinary staff group and to practice data-driven leadership
  • be clear in your communication, structured, and with a good overview
  • have the ability and seek good collaboration across
  • have a health professional education, e.g. senior psychologist, psychologist, or nurse.

About the Department

TUP2 is a general outpatient department for youths and is part of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department, AUH.

The outpatient youth psychiatry consists of two departments (TUP 1 and TUP 2). Both teams handle assessment and treatment of youths between 14 and 18 (21) years with complex youth psychiatric disorders. There is a close and committed collaboration between management and staff across TUP 1 and TUP 2 to ensure good, harmonized patient pathways and a good working environment.

TUP2 handles examination and treatment of youths between 14 and 18 (21) years with moderate to severe psychiatric disorders, including ADHD, autism, affective disorders, and personality disorders.
