Psychologist sought for ADHD treatment and general psychiatric assessment.

We need two psychologists for the Clinic for Psychiatric Assessment and the Clinic for ADHD in Hospital Unit West, which spans the municipalities of Skive, Viborg and Silkeborg.

This position is for the Psychiatry House in Silkeborg, and a corresponding position has been posted for Psychiatry in Viborg. The position is for 37 hours per week, and it is available for fill as of January 1, 2027.

About the Clinic for Psychiatric Assessment and the Clinic for ADHD

The Clinic for Psychiatric Assessment receives all newly referred patients for outpatient assessment and treatment. This is accomplished in collaboration between psychologists with different specialities, experienced psychiatric nurses, and physicians and specialists. The clinic has existed for many years, and we have developed good professional standards and workflows to jointly conduct high-quality assessments.

Our goal is to provide our patients with a qualified and swift evaluation, assessment and diagnosis, so they can be referred to a relevant treatment offer in the department's other clinics. It is a priority for us that each assessment is experienced as a team task and not a solo project.

The Clinic for ADHD handles treatment of ADHD. The regional psychiatry's target group in the ADHD area is characterized by comorbid mental disorders such as anxiety disorders, affective disorders, autism spectrum disorders and substance misuse issues. As a psychologist you will conduct short psychotherapeutic processes for a smaller proportion of patients, participate in multidisciplinary conferences and contribute with differential diagnostic considerations and sometimes assist with additional investigations.

The Clinic for ADHD is involved in the regional ADHD network and the Professional Committee ADHD, and annually we travel together to a ADHD-themed day to keep our professional sharpness.

The two clinics are organized under the same line management and share premises. The work environment is characterized by mutual trust, openness, helpfulness and a good sense of humor. We emphasize community, easy accessibility and eating lunch together. In conferences there is a good and professional tone with room for input from all professional groups.

There are regular psychologist professional group meetings and a good cooperation climate across the entire department, and there is an opportunity for group supervision of tests.

Qualifications

We expect a psychologist with the following professional and personal qualifications

• If you are a Psychologist with a practice certificate/Clinical Psychologist, that would be an advantage. Further specialization could also be of interest.
• Interest in neurodivergence.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with psychopathology and differential diagnosis.
• Competent in psychological assessments as well as cognitive assessment of patients with psychiatric conditions.
• Good collaboration skills, engagement and good humor.
• Desire for professional development.
• Experience with Electronic Patient Journal (EPJ) or similar documentation system.
• Ability to participate in supervision tasks.
