About the job

At the Psychiatric Center Glostrup we are looking for you who are passionate about treating patients with emotionally unstable personality structure – borderline type and/or PTSD with complex symptoms. If you are interested in being part of a groundbreaking treatment offering based on a unique trauma-focused DAT treatment concept, you might be our new colleague!

Welcome to the department for treatment of self-harm (BAS)

BAS is a groundbreaking unique treatment offering, which opened for patients in June 2023 and consists of a combination of inpatient and outpatient treatment. Work is carried out based on trauma-focused dialectical behavior therapy (TF-DAT).

During the inpatient stay, which lasts 3 months, 8-12 patients at a time will receive an intensive multidisciplinary program consisting of group therapy, individual therapy and physical training. After the inpatient stay it is possible to continue treatment in an outpatient program. The outpatient program consists of weekly individual and group therapy.

Our target group is patients with emotionally unstable personality structure – borderline type and patients with a complex PTSD issue, who have not benefited from existing treatment offerings. The department is based on an acknowledged and evidence-based treatment model developed by Professor Martin Bohus in Germany, where intensive therapy with a focus on trauma processing is provided.

Your daily life

You will be attached to our inpatient unit, where your main task is to conduct psychotherapy and participate in a multidisciplinary team around the patient with two other psychologists, environmental staff, a physician, a physiotherapist and a social worker.

Examples of tasks in BAS inpatient

  • Individual- and group therapy based on the TF-DAT manual.
  • Handling of pre-treatment programs up to admission.
  • Planning of patient pathways based on the treatment plan.
  • Participating in team-based collaboration around the patients.
  • There may be assessment tasks of complex conditions.
  • There may be tasks related to research.
  • There may be supervision tasks.

As we continuously strive to secure the best possible treatment for the patients and the best conditions for our staff, there will also continuously be tasks related to development, planning and implementation of the treatment offering.

We offer

  • An opportunity to work in a highly specialized therapeutic treatment offering, in a department with high well-being and a good working environment, and where the TF-DAT approach is pervasive in all our work.
  • You will have 5 other psychologists as your close colleagues. There will therefore be good opportunities for development and psychological professional sparring and thus ensure the development of your psychological competencies. The psychology group has a broad and high level of expertise, where most are authorized, some on the way to specialization and we have a specialist psychologist.
  • Good opportunities to influence daily life and work with the patients, so as to ensure high quality in the treatment.
  • Highly qualified TF-DAT supervision by Professor Martin Bohus and psychotherapy specialist Casper Aaen.

Desired qualifications

We are looking for you who are a psychologist with a particular interest in treating patients with emotionally unstable personality structure – borderline type and PTSD.

We would like you to

  • Have a particular interest in and preferably experience with DAT or trauma-focused psychotherapy, as well as possible experience with supervision.
  • Have psychiatric and psychotherapeutic experience and knowledge of the target group.
  • Be interested in development and quality assurance, and be attracted by the possibility of continually improving our treatment offering.
  • Have good collaboration skills, thrive in a multidisciplinary and team-based environment and enjoy sharing your knowledge.
