Ambulance South is currently seeking engaged ambulance assistants and paramedics for Assens and Glamsbjerg, where there is also an opportunity to take your partner with you and apply as a team .  There is an alternate shift cycle in Glamsbjerg, which gives 4 days off every other weekend.

What characterizes the work at the smaller stations, and what should be part of your motivation for applying for these positions here, is that your professional skills are used to a large extent; it’s about finding the right treatment every time. You will gain, through the tasks and runs at the smaller stations, a natural boost in competence and professional development. Together with new instructions, it’s often you and your partner, in cooperation with the medical on-call physician/AMK doctor, who determine the right course of action for the patient.

The driving pattern at the small stations makes it possible to have room for strength training, professional deepening and skill improvement during work hours.

A flexible working life

As a paramedic in Prehospital South there must be room for both work and life outside of it. Therefore we have created the Freedom Portal, our internal “freedom and shift-swap center” for our rescuers.

Via the Freedom Portal you as a rescuer can get help when you need to take time off or have a shift moved. You submit a request, and planners continue to work on finding a solution.

This means more flexible shift plans and the possibility to take time off for example family life or important events, without compromising operations.

We work in a more flexible planning universe, where we can drop the fixed cycles and tailor the work life to fit well with private life.

At the same time we have the possibility in Operations to relocate resources to days when we are challenged. It will be a collaboration between rescuers and planners, which ultimately benefits us and the patients.

So far it has been a huge success – we only receive positive feedback, and it is immensely satisfying to be able to help the rescuers with freedom when they really need it.

This generates many happy emails in return! We have, as of today from January 1, relocated or given time off on around 2,000 shifts. ”

Our administration in Odense shares an address with the AMK Dispatch Center and is therefore in close collaboration with colleagues at AMK on a daily basis. Here we use, among other things, our employees’ good input to optimize collaboration and gain a better understanding of each other’s tasks. This has, among other things, resulted in us hiring more rescuers in combined positions with AMK, so that we can therefore work even better together – for the benefit of us and the patients.

You may be new graduates or have +30 years of experience.

The most important for us is that you are proud of your profession, want to work to give every patient you meet a good experience, and wish to be part of a unique community. You are a team player who contributes positively to the team – even on the busy shifts.

• an approved education as ambulance assistant or paramedic
• a child protection and a criminal record compatible with the role as an ambulance rescuer
• valid driving license at least category B and C

Salary

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told the base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in Ambulance-trained personnel – collective agreement 32.44.1 – salary as of 1.4.2026 . In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
