About the job

Would you like to use your physiotherapeutic expertise to create strong rehabilitation pathways? Do you thrive in complex courses and strong interdisciplinary collaboration? And would you like to help shape a new regional offering in Citizen-Centered Health? Then you are the person we are looking for.

We are seeking an engaged and clinically strong physiotherapist for the new health and care placements under Borgernær Sundhed at Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital. Here you will have a unique opportunity to make your professional mark on the physiotherapeutic effort and to contribute to shaping the future citizen-centered rehabilitation in collaboration with other professions.

A job where your physiotherapeutic contribution makes a difference At the health and care placements you will meet citizens who need a health care intervention that does not require hospital admission, but also cannot be appropriately managed in their own home. This can include, among others, elderly citizens and citizens with multiple concurrent illnesses, acute deterioration of a known condition, or reduced function after a hospital stay.

You will have a daily life where you work independently while being part of an interdisciplinary team.

You will, among other things, be responsible for

  • examine and assess citizens' physical functioning and need for rehabilitation
  • plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapeutic interventions
  • work purposefully with mobilization, gait function, transfers, balance and physical activity in everyday activities
  • support citizens' opportunities to maintain or regain functional ability and return to their own home or an appropriate housing form
  • assess the need for assistive devices and advise on safe use
  • collaborate with care staff to integrate activity and rehabilitation into daily routines and care situations
  • contribute to common goals and plans together with the citizen, relatives and relevant professional groups
  • contribute to coordination and smooth transitions between health and care placements, the hospital, the municipality and the citizen's home
  • contribute to development of professional practice, workflows and quality in the new offer

Be part of building something new As a result of the Health Reform, the regions will take responsibility for health and care placements from January 1, 2027. At Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital, the new clinical department Citizen-Centered Health is under development. The aim is to create a more accessible, cohesive and equitable health system where citizens experience coherence in their pathways, and where the right competences are in place at the right time.

Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital will establish 20 beds in Varde Municipality. Here, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social and health assistants work closely together.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to developing both the physiotherapeutic approach and the shared workflows. Our common goal is to help the citizen back to their own life with dignity, efficient pathways and high professional standards – with the citizen as an active participant.

We ensure that you are not alone

We know that it takes something to start something new. Therefore we offer

  • thorough introduction and onboarding to tasks and workflows
  • ongoing competence development and opportunities for professional and personal development
  • influence on the development of the physiotherapeutic approach and the new department
  • a strong interdisciplinary community with engaged colleagues, high professionalism and focus on collaboration
  • a workplace focused on dialogue, participation, well-being and a good working environment
  • a meaningful workplace where you contribute to better and more cohesive citizen pathways

Who are you? We are seeking a physiotherapist who

  • has broad physiotherapeutic experience and preferably experience with rehabilitation of citizens with complex or medical issues
  • has strong clinical assessment skills and can translate observations into relevant actions
  • works purposefully and rehabilitatively with attention to the citizen's resources, wishes and everyday life
  • can work independently, prioritize tasks and adapt the intervention to the citizen's changing needs
  • communicates clearly and respectfully and can build trust and security for citizens and relatives
  • actively contributes to interdisciplinary collaboration and shares their physiotherapeutic knowledge with colleagues
  • is curious, learning and eager to develop professional practice and workflows
  • takes co-responsibility for a good collegial community and a safe working environment

You do not need to know everything from day one. The most important is that you are willing to use your professional knowledge, take responsibility and help create a new offering together with us.

Employment terms The position is 37 hours per week starting January 1, 2027. Working hours will include day shifts on weekends.
