Would you like to be a priest in Vallekilde?

We are seeking a priest who would like to be part of a lively community – both in the church and in the local community that surrounds it.

After 33 years our current priest is retiring. Therefore we are now facing a generational change and are seeking a new priest for Vallekilde Valgmenighed.

We are around 400 members and a Grundtvigian evangelical congregation with an open view of humanity and Christianity. We cherish our tradition of a simplified liturgy.

Here there is little distance from idea to action, and we emphasize dialogue, community and local democracy.

The church is naturally our central focus, but the life around the church covers a broad range. We meet, among other things, for lectures, literature, music, theme days and various communities. Korskirken is also used for children’s church, night church and concerts.

We are primarily looking for a person who as a priest and as a person has something on their mind.

En der har lyst til at være tæt på mennesker og som tør være personlig, engageret og nysgerrig – og som gerne må have let til smil.

We imagine that you

• can proclaim the gospel in a tangible and understandable way
• are present and good at creating relationships
• are outgoing and have a desire to be a visible part of the local community
• have an eye for children and youth as well as for the elderly
• want to help develop the church and its activities in collaboration with the congregation
• can collaborate and at the same time work independently
• want to take part in the life that goes on around the church.

We are a church in the middle of a living local community where there are

strong communities, folk high school spirit, primary school life, association life and people who want to help one another.

Vallekilde College and Vallekilde-Hørve Free School are natural partners

, and we hope that our new priest would like to engage in local life and help build on the relationships that already exist.

What do you get?

You will have a congregation that is eager to engage and take responsibility.

You will have good opportunities to put your own mark on the priestly work. You will have colleagues and volunteers around you who want to collaborate.

And you will get a beautiful large priest’s house in Vallekilde, where there is a residence obligation.

We would like the position to be filled full-time, but we are open to discussing a part-time position if that is the right match.
