Do you want to set the direction for AI in an ambitious law firm – and translate technology into solutions that make a difference in everyday life?

At HortenDahl we are looking for a Head of AI & Legal Process Innovation, who can drive our AI agenda from strategy to practical implementation. You will have a central role in developing our use of artificial intelligence, legal tech and digital process optimization across the business.

We are looking for someone who can bridge legal expertise, technology, data and compliance – and create solutions that lawyers and colleagues adopt.

Your role

You must ensure that AI becomes an integrated part of our workflows and creates concrete improvements in, among other things, client service, knowledge sharing, document production, legal research, due diligence and case handling.

The position is located in IT/Business Development. From here you will work closely with the partnership, the legal practice areas, Knowledge Management, compliance, information security and other support functions.

You will have the opportunity to influence both the strategic direction and practical execution. It requires an understanding of the possibilities and limitations of technology – and for a law firm where high professionalism, confidentiality, quality and client responsibility are crucial.

Your main tasks

You will be responsible for

• Set the direction: Develop and drive HortenDahl's roadmap for AI and development of legal processes and advise management, partners and practice areas on opportunities and priorities.
• Create value in workflows: Identify and prioritise legal and administrative processes where AI can create measurable improvements, and translate business needs into concrete solutions.
• Drive implementation: Ensure introduction and use of AI tools such as Legora, Copilot, Ask iManage and Claude as well as assess the relevance of new platforms.
• Anchor the solutions in the organization: Collaborate with the practice areas on their needs and develop training, workshops and e-learning that makes AI usable in everyday life.
• Support responsible use: Contribute to governance, guidelines and risk assessments in cooperation with the CISO, compliance and legal specialists with focus on data protection, confidentiality and client data.
• Keep up with developments: Stay informed about legal AI and translate relevant opportunities into initiatives that fit HortenDahl's business.

Your success depends on the initiatives being used and delivering real value for lawyers, clients and the organization.

You will build and lead an AI team

As part of the role you will be responsible for building and leading a small AI team with two additional employees with AI competencies.

You will identify and hire the two profiles in collaboration with the IT Manager and subsequently take on management responsibility for the team.

Your professional background

You have experience in several of the following areas

• AI, generative AI, legal tech or digital transformation.
• Analysis and optimization of knowledge- and document-heavy processes.
• Implementation of digital solutions in professional services firms.
• Legal workflows, the legal industry or other regulated sectors.
• Microsoft 365, Copilot, document management, Knowledge Management or legal tech platforms.
• Data governance, information security, compliance and confidentiality.

How you work

You can work strategically while getting close to the practical development and implementation of solutions.

Experience from a law firm, consulting firm, legal tech, Knowledge Management or another professional service organisation is an advantage but not a requirement.

You are business-oriented, technologically curious and good at understanding complex workflows and translating them into simple, usable solutions.

You communicate clearly with lawyers, technicians and management and build trust through your professionalism and understanding of their daily life. You are pragmatic, take initiative and make things happen – even when the solution is not given in advance.

At the same time, you have an eye for balancing innovation, quality, security and compliance.
