Head of Culture and Leisure, Favrskov Municipality

After 23 years in Favrskov Municipality, our former Culture and Leisure Chief deserves their retirement, and we are therefore seeking a new chief who is ready to develop and set a direction for a well-functioning culture and leisure life close to the citizens.

In Favrskov Municipality we are proud of a strong and close-knit association-, culture- and leisure life that is close to the citizens’ everyday lives. As culture and leisure chief you will lead libraries, culture houses, music school and the voluntary sector area – in close interaction with engaged department heads, an ambitious management team, a vibrant associations life and as part of an important political agenda.

About the job

You will have overall management responsibility for the area’s four leaders and for finances, results and the work environment. You will, among other things, lead a new joint strategy process for libraries, culture houses and music school and the continued development of the associations- and sports life. You will also contribute to major construction projects such as the new sports facility in Søften and Moselund Nature Center in Hinnerup. You will support the Culture and Leisure Committee and be part of the management team in Children and Culture.

We value, among other things, that you

• have relevant professional education and experience in leading managers
• have good insight into, and experience with, the culture and/or leisure sector, as well as a good knowledge of municipal operations and the municipal decision-making processes
• are strategic and analytical with political acumen and a focus on realizing political goals within the financial framework
• are relationally strong and a credible communicator who can translate complex agendas into action
• have humor, empathy and self-awareness.
