Head of Culture and Leisure for Favrskov Municipality

After 23 years in Favrskov Municipality, our esteemed culture and leisure chief has earned their pension, and we are therefore seeking a new chief who is ready to develop and set the direction for a well-functioning culture and leisure life close to the citizens.

In Favrskov Municipality we are proud of a strong and close volunteer-, culture-, and leisure-life that is close to the daily life of citizens. As culture and leisure chief you will lead libraries, culture houses, music school and the voluntary/public educational area – in close collaboration with engaged department heads, an ambitious management group, a lively association life and as part of an important political agenda. About the job

You will have the overall management responsibility for the area's four leaders and for finance, results and the working environment. You will among other things lead a new joint strategy process for libraries, culture houses and the music school and the continued development of the association and sports life. You will also contribute to major construction projects such as the new sports facility in Søften and Moselund Nature Center in Hinnerup. You will serve the Culture and Leisure Committee and join the management group in Children and Culture. We especially value that you:

• have relevant professional education and experience in leading managers
• have good insight into, and experience with, culture and/or leisure sector as well as a good knowledge of the municipal organization and the municipal decision-making processes
• are strategic and analytical with political acumen and a focus on realizing political goals within the economic framework
• are relationally strong and a credible communicator who can translate complex agendas into action
• have humor, empathy and self-insight.
