Head of Department at Danahus Nursing Home

About Danahus

Danahus is home to 37 residents and a workplace with dedicated colleagues. We are located in beautiful surroundings with a view of Vejlen and the forest and have a lovely courtyard in the middle of the house. In our own kitchen, both hot and cold meals are prepared, and meals are an important part of the residents' daily life.

We place emphasis on high professionalism and good collaboration. Our goal is every day to create quality of life and a meaningful daily life based on the individual resident's wishes, needs and self-determination.

You will become the leader of a multidisciplinary team, which includes among others nurses, social and health care assistants and social and health aids, as well as unskilled staff. Together you will ensure coherence between the health care aspects and the life lived at Danahus.

Present leadership

We are looking for a leader who meets Danahus with respect for the effort and experiences contributed by staff, residents and relatives. You take time to listen and get to know the house, so the further development builds on the good work that has already been done.

Your task will be to build on the good work and support stability, trust and continuity. It requires you to be visible in everyday life, follow up on agreements and create clear frames. You must be able to maintain a direction while involving staff experiences and professional perspectives.

We place particular emphasis on having an eye for the close to home. You are interested in the residents' daily lives, accessible to relatives and you prioritize open and respectful dialogue.

Your task as department head

You will be responsible for the daily management of Danahus and for creating coherence between professional quality, staff well-being and responsible operation.

Your tasks include among others to

• Support the health professional quality through professional sparring, reflection and follow-up.
• Create structure and overview in daily operations.
• Secure good planning and actively use shift planning so staffing and competencies match the residents' needs.
• Develop a safe working environment with room for questions, learning and different perspectives.
• Prioritize collaboration with residents and relatives.
• Monitor finances and resources in close collaboration with the area manager.
• Collaborate with TRIO, MED and other partners on the workplace's development.

We are looking for someone who

• Has a health professional education such as nurse or social and health care assistant.
• Has experience from the elderly care sector and preferably experience with staff leadership.
• Works in a structured way and can prioritize and follow up, even when daily life changes.
• Has a flair for planning and understanding the link between staffing, professionalism and economy.
• Has knowledge of shift planning, collective agreements and working time rules.
• Communicates clearly and respectfully and can undertake necessary conversations.
• Involves employees and brings their competencies into play.
• Can build trust through presence, clarity and action.

It is an advantage if you have a leadership education or are willing to undertake one. Knowledge of KMD Nexus and experience from a politically led organization is also an advantage.

You will become part of a close leadership community

You report to the area manager for the general nursing homes and become part of a smaller leadership group where we prioritize sparring, shared responsibility and cross-house collaboration.

We acknowledge that leadership is a complex task. Therefore you will have close cooperation with the area manager and leadership colleagues with whom you can discuss both daily operations and long-term development.

We prioritize a good introduction and handover in collaboration with the current leadership group and the area manager.

Salary and employment

The position is a permanent employment, with start on January 1, 2027, or by agreement.

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local wage formation.

The salary is set after individual negotiations based on the relevant leadership agreement depending on education.

Expected salary level will be announced at the first interview.

Note: Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record.
