Head of Department for Construction Logistics East

Do you focus on constructibility and have a flair for leadership? Then you might be our new department head for a newly established department, Construction Logistics East.

At the Danish Road Directorate, we work every day to create coherence for the many travelers who use the Danish state roads.

In our task solution we strive to create constructible projects with a focus on safety for both the executing workers at the construction site, at road works and for the road users. Whether we are laying new roads, operating and maintaining, or setting the framework for others to perform tasks on the state roads.

As department head you will be responsible for 16 professional employees, and together you shall support that the Road Directorate's execution of construction, operation and maintenance tasks takes place with a focus on both a good and safe working environment as well as accessibility and traffic safety.

Your tasks

” This is a position in a newly established department, where we want to bring together the professional disciplines within traffic management and the working environment. In our task solution there is a need for a greater focus on constructibility in the projects, which is why the working environment and traffic management are combined in a new department, ” says area manager for Contract Management and Authority Søren Andersen.

You will, among other things, be responsible for

• leading 16 employees, including engineers and specialists
• lifting professional issues and engaging in dialogue with managerial colleagues and other authorities, such as the Police and the Danish Working Environment Authority
• supporting both the individual employee and the solution of the team's tasks
• supporting the development of construction logistics as a common professional field
• participating in a close and trusted collaboration with the entire management group for Contract Management and Authority in the development of the area

Your profile

There can be multiple entry paths to the job. But we expect that you have a relevant technical/academic background.

We also would like you to

• have experience with the execution of construction projects
• have knowledge of working environment management and preferably experience with working environment legislation, client and design responsibility
• have knowledge of traffic management
• have a pronounced process understanding and experience in acting in a politically governed organization
• be listening and unifying
• have empathy and an overview

You will become part of the Road Directorate's leadership team and you will report to Søren Andersen, area manager in Contract Management and Authority. Leadership at the Road Directorate can be characterized by an informal collaborative approach, where open dialogue, trust and engagement shape daily life.

Your department, Construction Logistics East, belongs to the area Contract Management and Authority, which is responsible for managing our construction, operation and maintenance contracts as well as the issuing of excavation and access permits on the state road network.

You will become part of an organization where flexibility, competence development and work-life balance are high on the agenda, and you will work in a dynamic matrix organization with the opportunity to shape the development of the professional area.

The newly established Construction Logistics East department consists of about 16 employees distributed across the Road Directorate's offices in Hedehusene and Næstved.

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed and remunerated under the applicable state regime collective agreement.

As an academic employee you are hired under the currently applicable agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state ( AC agreement.)

You will be positioned as a chief consultant with supervisory responsibility with a base salary of DKK 769,248 annually including 18.07% pension. You can see the base salary on page 31 in State Salary Overview.

In addition to the base salary there is a fixed functional allowance for the position currently at DKK 77,969.89 annually including pension. In addition, there is the opportunity to negotiate an individual qualification allowance depending on experience and qualifications.

If you are qualified for the position but do not have an academic education that allows for employment under AC, you will be employed and remunerated under the agreement and pay grade that applies to your background and education.

You will be covered by the seniority agreement, which means you receive 9 extra days off annually, and the working hours are on average set to 38.5 hours per week.

The Road Directorate is an agency under the Ministry of Climate, Health, and Transport. Your place of employment will be with the Ministry of Climate, Health and Transport and its associated institutions. You will be employed at the Road Directorate at Guldalderen 12, 2640 Hedehusene.
