Head of Department for Environment and Climate

In Technical and Environment we work to create and manage the physical and environmental framework for good everyday life in Herning Municipality. Now we are looking for a divisional head for Environment and Climate, who will lead a professionally strong department and help translate ambitions into benefits for citizens, businesses and local communities.

You should have an eye for people and wholes and lead a department with meaningful authority tasks within companies, agriculture, water, wastewater, heat and nature.

You will be manager of 28 dedicated employees and will be responsible for supporting well-being, development and task execution in a department where dialogue, trust and collaboration are central values.

As divisional head you must set direction and create followership in an organization with high professionalism and many collaboration interfaces. You must be able to ensure good frameworks for responsibility, initiative and engagement.

• 1st interview will be held Thursday 12 November 2026.
• 2nd interview will be held Friday 20 November 2026.

There will be used cases and a personality profile in connection with the employment interviews.

Applicants invited to 2nd interview will have a personality profile prepared between the 1st and 2nd interview.

Feedback on the personality profile will take place on Tuesday 17 or Wednesday 18 November 2026.
